  • 13: “If” versus “When” + How = Now

When we feel at our worst we begin our thoughts with the word “if.” But when we start empowering ourselves to make things happen for the better, our “if’s” turn to “when’s.” But your work can’t stop there. In order to reach a better place mentally and physically in your moment of distress or transition,…

  • 12: More Than a Test Score
Students are more than a test score. They have talents within that we as teachers need to cultivate so that students can develop as a whole individual and not just as a student. Hear how I used students’ talents to benefit themselves and the classroom learning process at the same time!
    Quotables

    * My good intentions were boxing in my students to a mold they weren’t designed to be in.
    * My strength was also my weakness.
    * I have empowered my students to take more ownership in my class by tolerating a variety of personality traits knowing these talents are beneficial to my students and their growth.
    * We need to serve the WHOLE child and not hone in on one area that we miss opportunities for the other areas to grow.

  • 11: Drop Feedback Bombs
Teachers can only get better when we allow them to by providing clear, actionable feedback on their teaching practices. Find out how instructional leaders can develop a culture of feedback at their schools as well as gain coaching ideas to turn great teachers into SUPER teachers!
    Quotables

    * Our kids grow like weeds when we take the time to give them feedback
    * I want to empower you teacher leaders to see the opportunity to step up and close the loop on feedback so not only teachers in your building get stronger, but students start exceling and your school overall achieves greatness.
    * Teachers are capable. They have fantastic ideas and are full of passion.
    * We want teachers to stop reaching out to unreliable sources to gain ideas

  • 9: It’s Not About You
Teaching has more to do with the students than it does the teacher. However, we often put so much emphasis on our own performance and our own to do list, we forget to affect kids and create opportunities for their growth. Tune in to hear how you can flip the script and empower students every day in your classroom!
    Quotables

    *  Everything you do as an educator is for the students
    * I spent so much time prepping for a lesson in terms of what I was going to say instead of figuring out what I wanted students to say.
    * It was awesome to see them grow up in a matter of seconds just because I gave them the opportunity to.
    * Its about being intentional about how you structure your class to ensure students are learning and growing as people
