Derek Wickerling of Goodhue is a member of the GCF Board and gives us a preview of the fun everyone in the family can experience at this year's fair. Wickerling rounds up volunteers to assist with the grandstand events.

Laura Bock, Executive Director, goes over the finances for the organization that she says when she started at $200,000 total. That has grown to over 3.6 million in just the past couple years. Bock indicated the sky is the limit if more people participate in pooling their dollars to benefit the community.

Joseph Habedank , 2024 Soloist of the Year at Singing News Fan Awards will be in Apple Valley, Mn. Sunday, August 3, 2025. Part of the Minnesota Gospel Opry. Leon and Larissa Lundstrom give us details and a couple of songs from Habedank are featured on the program. Doors open 4pm Sunday in the air-conditioned Destiny Church in Apple Valley just off County Road 42. Habedank writes much of the music he performs inspired by his road from drug addiction to the Grammys.

Rose Ann and Bruce Kubicek have been involved in this over half century church festival. It's one of the largest in southern Minnesota . Held on the grounds of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Litomysl, rural Steele County. The church was built with stones collected from farm fields throughout the area. The Kubiceks give details about all he activities people can enjoy with air conditioned facilities and lots of shade on the grounds you can still have a good time on a hot day.

Night to Unite is August 5, 2025 and Chief Sherwin would love to set a community record for block parties. He says the idea is to get to know your neighbors so when you are gone they can keep an eye for unusual activity around your home and vice versa.
