Council members Royal Ross and Adama Doumboya discuss various issues facing the city. The council is hoping to decide soon if they are going to ask the legislature for permission to request a 1% local option sales tax. The dollars would go toward construction of a new community center if approved by the voters next fall, Before the vote can be held the state has to grant the city permission to conduct the vote.

Dustin Dienst says the rainfall totals in the area over the weekend should not result in any major flooding in the Faribault area. The two Republicans said they enjoyed visiting with people at their GOP booth at the Steeele County Free Fair and praised fair organizers for their hard work.

A woman from Missouri makes custom made hats. A woman from Arlington makes Fruit Freezes for a healthy , cool snack. A man from Missouri also made custom made pens and some licorice in a variety of flavors including root beer , green apple and watermelon are featured.

Nort Johnson, Faribault Chamber President and Brad Meyer, Owatonna Chamber Chief talked about their join work on a number of opportunities in the region on the program which was broadcast from the Steele County Free Fair in Owatonna.

We visited with four unique vendors at this year's Steele County Free Fair in Owatonna. One sells custom made hats, another custom pens, fruit freezes provide a healthy snack, and the other massage pillows. All are located in the Four Seasons Arena.

Brad Hovel with the Pork Producers along with Warren Formo and Rep Keith Allen talked about the MPCA opening up the 70-20 Feedlot Rule for Public Commet.

Aly Klpeckner is in charge of the 4-H program in Goodhue County and loves her job . We also visit with Friends of the Goodhue County Fair Chair Sherri Betcher and member Tim Goldsmith about raising funds for three new barns on the fairgrounds. The ventilation is coming in handy this hot and humid week. In past years they may have had to send animals home for their safety.

A variety of young people ranging from kindergarten age to high school give us details about their 4-H work. Some gentlemen from the Wanamingo area are showing their dairy animals. Cousins from Zumbrota talked about their projects also in the Goodhue County Pork Producers building on the fairgrounds in Zumbrota.
