Aly Klpeckner is in charge of the 4-H program in Goodhue County and loves her job . We also visit with Friends of the Goodhue County Fair Chair Sherri Betcher and member Tim Goldsmith about raising funds for three new barns on the fairgrounds. The ventilation is coming in handy this hot and humid week. In past years they may have had to send animals home for their safety.

A variety of young people ranging from kindergarten age to high school give us details about their 4-H work. Some gentlemen from the Wanamingo area are showing their dairy animals. Cousins from Zumbrota talked about their projects also in the Goodhue County Pork Producers building on the fairgrounds in Zumbrota.

Derek Wickerling of Goodhue is a member of the GCF Board and gives us a preview of the fun everyone in the family can experience at this year's fair. Wickerling rounds up volunteers to assist with the grandstand events.

Julie Fakler, Executive Director of PCA of Faribault is joined by Joe Hip, entertainer from the Twin Cities performing later this month in Faribault. We touch on other events happening this month at the Paradise.

Katy Anderegg with RBNC in Faribault gives details about the annual Ramble fundraiser next weekend and touches on other topics. Some FREE nature programs are happening at their location on the east side of town. Connecting with nature is good for our mental as well as physical health.

Paula Leider, Kris Sauer, administrators with Bethlehem Academy talk about the fun people can experience this Saturday, August 2, 2025 during an all-school reunion on the campus of the 160 year old school.

Laura Bock, Executive Director, goes over the finances for the organization that she says when she started at $200,000 total. That has grown to over 3.6 million in just the past couple years. Bock indicated the sky is the limit if more people participate in pooling their dollars to benefit the community.

Emeralds Director of fun Carrie says they do have some beds available on short-term rehabilitation side of their facility in Faribault.

Joseph Habedank , 2024 Soloist of the Year at Singing News Fan Awards will be in Apple Valley, Mn. Sunday, August 3, 2025. Part of the Minnesota Gospel Opry. Leon and Larissa Lundstrom give us details and a couple of songs from Habedank are featured on the program. Doors open 4pm Sunday in the air-conditioned Destiny Church in Apple Valley just off County Road 42. Habedank writes much of the music he performs inspired by his road from drug addiction to the Grammys.

Rose Ann and Bruce Kubicek have been involved in this over half century church festival. It's one of the largest in southern Minnesota . Held on the grounds of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Litomysl, rural Steele County. The church was built with stones collected from farm fields throughout the area. The Kubiceks give details about all he activities people can enjoy with air conditioned facilities and lots of shade on the grounds you can still have a good time on a hot day.
