Phil Burkhart conducts the Owatonna Community Symphony Orchestra which has a concert Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in St. Johns Lutheran Church 1301 Lincoln Avenue, Owatonna. The orchestra is comprised of some very accomplished musicians from as far away as Decorah, Iowa. One of the selections is called "Adoration" and will feature 112 Owatonna High school strings students playing with the orchestra. Burkhart touts the Owatonna music program among one of the best in the midwest.

Ken Hubert and Franz Boelter with Faribault Sports Inc. go over this years inductees into the Faribault Sports Hall of Fame which includes Faribault High School and Bethlehem Academy High School athletes. There are eight selections this year. The banquet is at Faribault Golf and Country Club Friday, October 17, 2025.

The iconic shoe store in downtown Faribault has been assisting people with foot issues for nearly eight decades. Bruce and Brian Burkhartzmeyer's grandfather worked in a shoe factory in Faribault and opened a shoe repair shop before the Burkhartzmeyer brothers decided to begin their store on Central Avenue in 1949.

We also talk about the hearing scheduled for March of 2026 concerning parole for convicted murderer Timothy Chambers who was sentenced to life in prison without parole in connection with the May 3, 1996 killing of Rice County Sheriff's Deputy John Liebenstein, age 40. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled the sentence was unconstitutional.
