Maa Gruha (Maternity Waiting Home) established by the District Administration, Sundargarh are an important intervention towards ensuring institutional delivery and safe childbirth. 10 Maa Gruha are operational while 10 more will be built in the district with support from DMF Sundargarh. Each Maa Gruha is equipped with 8 beds to accommodate pregnant women a few days prior to the expected date of delivery. Here, she is provided with nutritious food and necessary medical checkup to assess both mother and child health. Ambulance Service is made available for free pickup and drop facilities to the mother from home to nearest medical facility and back. 

The Virtual Class Programme initiated by the District Administration, Sundargarh has helped connect many schools into one classroom with the use of technology to make learning interesting, engaging and fun. During the COVID19 Pandemic when schools were closed, the infrastructure was used to create video lectures and disseminate among students to facilitate continued education.

Millets is a highly nutritious crop that can grow without much water. Hence the District Administration, Sundargarh encourages cultivation & consumption of nutritious millets under the Odisha Millets Mission. Currently functioning in 8 blocks of the district, the Odisha Millets Mission is supported in four blocks by the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Sundargarh. 

The Sundargarh District Administration has taken several initiatives to reduce Malaria incidents in the district. Notable progress has been achieved in the past few years with less than 1 affected in over 1000 people. Special focus was given on tribal pockets, inaccessible areas and urban slums. Over 13.9 Lakh LLIN Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets are being distributed by the administration to prevent malaria causing mosquitoes from infecting people.   

Odisha Livelihoods Mission (OLM) lends technical and financial assistance to Rural Women & WSHG Members for various livelihood support initiatives like Goatery, Poultry and NutriGarden. The projects help women earn a secondary livelihood and become self independent. 

Sundargarh produces high quality Tasar Silk. Tasar Silk Park in Sundargarh will realize the dream of 'Soil to Silk' in Sundargarh. From Cocoon production to commercial crop, to weaving yarn and producing high quality finished goods out of Tasar Silk, all activities will be done under one roof at the Tasar Silk Park. It is going to be operational by end of 2021 at Khuntgaon block. Over 20 crore has been sanctioned for the project from District Mineral Foundation, DMF Sundargarh.

Antenatal Care Services (ANC) under the 'Matrujyoti' umbrella programme have turned a boon for the pregnant women in Sundargarh district of Odisha. ANC service ensure four times free ultrasound and other necessary tests during pregnancy for each woman thus helping to detect, diagnose and mitigate Mother & Child Health issues. Over 28,000 pregnant woman will directly benefit with these services in the district annually. The ANC service was formally launched in the district on 9 November 2020 by the Collector, Shri Nikhil Pavan Kalyan. 

The district Administration, Sundargarh has initiated a number of public welfare projects covering Agriculture, Drinking Water, Education, Health, PwD Welfare, Senior Citizen Services like Allowance & Pensions, Sanitation, Environment Preservation & Pollution Control, Livelihood, Women & Child Development, Nutrition and others.
