Brian passes The Amaazen Outdoors Podcast Mic to his buddy Jeff Nuss.  Jeff hosts his first "Guest Host" show with an Amaazing sit-down interview with the most impressive guest to date on the show.

With Brian behind the soundboard (and trying to stay quiet), Jeff and Thruman Tucker discuss his 40+ year history working with Bobwhite Quail in MN.  One of the founders of MN Quail Society to what is now Quail Forever Minnesota Southeast Chapter, Thurman has been putting the groundwork in on saving Bobwhites in MN longer than Jeff or Brian have been on the planet. 

We all owe Thurman a major debt of gratitude for his efforts in an uphill battle to keep these birds on our landscape.  We discuss the challenges, the bright spots, and what we all can do to help.

Enjoy the history of Bobwhite whistles in Minnesota and the man behind the effort for the last number of decades.

We chat about the unique dynamics of managing what is left of Wisconsin's sharpies.   Mike explains the crux of balancing industrial forests when considering sharptail habitat.  Also highlights some vacancy issues in the WI DNR.

In this episode, we discuss the Wisconsin Prairie Chicken.  This podcast is part of a mini-series that highlights the history "Boom to Bust" of the bird in WI.

Brian sits down for a conversation with Alaina Gerrits.  She is the Assistant Upland Bird Ecologist for the WI DNR.  She gives us the history of the bird and challenges to keep them on the landscape.  

Wisconsin is working on a new 10-year plan for Prairie Chickens.  The bird, like many others, is at a critical mass point.  If you want to get involved there are links below.

Brian sits down for an in-studio interview with Keng Yeng.  Keng grew up being an Anti Hunter.  He was exposed to hunting but never enjoyed it until he developed a bond with a bird dog.  His dog got him into hunting and now he actively seeks out others to get into hunting.  Keng has a passion for mentoring others and has battled inclusivity.  His vision is to help new hunters feel more welcomed and help them get going.
