" You Light Up My life" was the biggest song of 1977, the biggest song of the decade of the 70s and set a record  as the number one song on Billboard's Top 40 for 10 weeks in a row.  But there was some behind the scenes drama with the recording of that song.  She'll tells that story and much more.

The Boone Family, like the Jacksons and the Osmonds made music together under the leadership of their dad; Pat Boone.  That, plus a three generation legacy of music was the backdrop for Debby’s career.  Jesus was, and still is a big part of her story and you'll hear it all in this episode of Amazing Greats.

Joe Micheals this weeks guest host is a long time friend.    We worked in radio together as teen agers and on into adulthood.  He is a master voice talent, radio personality, and life long Catholic.   He takes us on this Debby Boone journey in a very special one on one conversation for Amazing Greats.  Enjoy!

Polish immigrant parents who survived the war,  suffered from their past with PTSD, alcoholism, family abuse and divorce.  Stefan Rybak was raised in this dysfunctional environment and yet, through God's blessings became a highly successful radio personality, radio executive,  and happy family man.  It was a shocking and unexpected health crisis and surgery that cemented his faith and trust in God.  Out of that experience he felt called to put his story in a book..."The Shadow on my Heart" .  As this week's Amazing Greats guest, you have a chance to hear his story and share his experience in this episode.

His book is available on Amazon in paperback and on Kindle.  It is a well crafted memoir of a rather extraordinary life.

Being a radio guy myself, I always find it fun and enlightening  to chat with those radio leaders who are making waves in the business.   Ron Harrell is one of those guys.  He's been responsible for programming some of the most successful Top 40, Adult Contemporary and Country radio stations around the country for the past 30 years.  Now he jumps in with both feet to bring his radio experience to a very different format as the new brand and content manager for a 42 station Christian radio network  WAY-FM.    You'll find out about some of the challenges in making the leap,  how Christian radio differs from other formats and how his faith brought him to this new frontier.  If you are a Contemporary Christian radio listener or have never experienced it, you'll find out how this kind of radio is special and how Ron approaches this new chapter in his radio career.   If you are in one of the cities where WAY FM is, great.  If Not...just ask Alexa to play WAY-FM or find them online live at  https://listen.wayfm.com/national/.

The success of his book,  The One Minute Manager, was his "aha Jesus" moment.  When this 112 page simplified manual in story form  was published in 1982  it shared the profound management skills adopted by a generation of business leaders.  It was an instant best seller and sold over 15 million copies and launched a career that has helped millions of people around the world and was the pre-cursor to more than 60 other business books that he has authored or co-authored over the past 4 decades, including "Lead Like Jesus"   His story is fascinating and you'll hear him explain it in this episode of Amazing Greats.

Post Katrina, it was football and a Super Bowl that helped revive the city and it was the highlight of his life  for a quarterback who thought that his career might be over.   An amazing story from one of America's great stars.
