If you can become more aware of how perfectionism shows up in your day, this might the key to reducing procrastination.
A quick call with a fellow entrepreneur, Annabel, who is many years ahead of me in experience, pointed out this little fact and I had to do a deep dive to share with you.
I learned early on that perfectionism is not what I am aiming for - My first product isn't going to be perfect. Nothing is! Because there is always room for improvement. But if I'm going to put thousands of dollars into something, wouldn't I want to give it my best shot?
My lesson learned: There's a gap between being okay with imperfect and giving something your best shot, where procrastination lies. If we can develop a reflex to seeing this immediately in ourselves, we'd not only minimize the invitation for self-doubt and fear, but we'd have more time to get shit done!
