I talk about the importance of family being involved in autistic people’s lives. I do realize that early interventions neither guarantee “healing” from autism nor guarantee complete independence as adults. They do help kids reach their fullest potential, though. I do also realize that there are caring parents out there who just don’t have access to early interventions. I think we should work to provide that access.

The autism community is full of division. Read any article about ABA or vaccines for example and you’ll be guaranteed to witness petty drama between people who should be united.

Info dumping is when someone with autism goes on and on talking about their special interests.

Don’t take offense to every single thing someone says about your autistic child. Instead, use that time and energy to educate people about autism. Also, disregard the haters.

It’s time to bridge the divide between autism parents and autistic adults. Unity is necessary for the well being of all autistic people, regardless of where they are on the spectrum!
