Sarah Ardis, Director of Development and Community Relations for the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission visits with Stephen Parr and Louis Avallone, explaining Thanksgiving is one of the Mission’s biggest outreach activities of the year. They served over 1,000 meals to individuals in need in the community with the help of volunteers picking up the meals, along with maps and instructions, to deliver meals all over the community.

For Christmas, the Mission will need help with Project Mission Tree, where the Mission guests’ gift requests are put on tags for members of the community to fulfill through donation.

Stephen Parr tells us a story about the very beginning of America which you may not have heard before, and then he asks why this would have happened.

Our American Economy is doing extremely well. The Trump Presidency is providing an economic boom for so many, especially those who were at the lower rungs of the economic ladder. We have rising stock values, increasing numbers of home starts, and a substantial increase in available jobs. Also important, people are now creating more personal savings, in bank and saving deposits, small Certificates of Deposit, and Money Market funds. Thus the American Money Supply has once again started to increase which is very good for our personal and National economic future.

A lot of people from New York City, representing the Gateway Development Consortium came to Shreveport this week to try to “close the $1,000,000,000 deal” on developing Cross Bayou. That is $1 Billion deal……for them and nothing but losses and risks to Shreveport and Shreveporters. What is truly surprising is that Mayor Perkins and at least 3 members of the Shreveport City Council are even considering this totally one-sided deal at all.

Louis Avallone and Stephen Parr believe this is too big a deal, too one-sided a deal, and too expensive a deal to let just 4 people make the decision. They believe the citizens of Shreveport should be the ones to make this decision in an election because the negative impact will become their burden if it goes through.

Because American Ground Radio’s broadcast in the first segment was interrupted by a tornado warning for areas outside the Shreveport/Bossier City area, Louis Avallone and Stephen Parr went back over what they were talking about at the time, with a bit of a twist. They are suggesting the citizens of Shreveport ought to vote on this $1 Bil deal where Shreveport gives away taxpayer property and only gets risk in return.

Even though no other President has done this, Stephen Parr found the National Press has not always reported on President Trump’s quarterly donations of his 1/4 of his salary; so in this segment of “Digging Deep”, he shares that information. The Presidency is paid $400,000 a year, making each donation be $100,000.

Louis Avallone and Stephen Parr talk about how Louisiana is now cleaning up its Medicaid rolls now that the elections are over. But be forewarned, special interests now want to increase Louisiana gas taxes to 17%.

Louis Avallone and Stephen Parr want to know why just 4 members of the Shreveport City Council should be able to just give 100 acres of taxpayer owned land to Gateway Development Consortium. They think this matter should be put on the ballot for the voters of Shreveport to decide.

Stephen Parr shares recent poll numbers from reliable sources showing President Trump has 34% support from Blacks and 38% from Hispanics. Louis Avallone explains the reason the Left cannot let people believe minorities just might be supporting President Trump is because the Left is all about identity politics. The Left is not supporting the idea of being American coming first and the minority designation being secondary.
