What if the Bible’s story of the Kingdom begins in Eden and reaches its fulfillment in the enthronement of Jesus Christ?
In this Bible teaching, we trace a powerful pattern from Adam’s lost dominion in the Garden, through the Temple, the Ark of the Covenant, the cherubim, Ezekiel’s vision of the glory returning through the east gate, and finally to Jesus Christ, the Last Adam, ascending to the throne and pouring out the Holy Ghost at Pentecost.
Adam was driven from the Garden, and cherubim guarded the way. But Ezekiel later saw the glory of God returning through the east. The Temple itself carried the imagery of Eden, and when the Ark entered the Most Holy Place, the glory filled the house.
Then something remarkable happened at Pentecost: just as 120 trumpeters were united when the glory filled Solomon’s Temple, about 120 disciples were gathered in one accord when the Holy Ghost filled the house in Acts 2. Peter explained that this outpouring was the evidence that the resurrected Jesus had been exalted to the throne and had “shed forth” the Holy Ghost.
