Squadron Leader Tirunelveli Sridhar Murthy was the boss of young Flying Officer Nitish Gupta in an Air Force Logistics Depot near Bangalore. They did not get on well with each other.
On the slightest opportunity Murthy wanted to put his subordinate in trouble – physically, mentally and financially. But most of the time Nitish Gupta succeeded in evading problems.
On the other hand Murthy tried to ensure that Nitish could not get out of his clutches. But luck seemed to favour the young man and help him to come out of seemingly impossible situations unscathed.
An opportunity for Nitish presented itself when he got an order from the Command Headquarters to proceed to Pune on duty. In the meanwhile, his marriage too got fixed up.
Murthy tried all the tricks up his sleeve to cancel his duty and he refused to grant more than ten day’s leave for Nitish to quickly get married and come back. T
his time too Nitish got providential help to get away from his unit, get married and return to unit after an unusually long time of five months. As soon he joined duty, Murthy sent him to Delhi, leaving behind his new bride alone.
The ding dong battle between Murthy and Nitish went on and on, like cat and mouse game between the cartoon characters Tom and Jerry.
Where and how did the game of Murthy and Nitish end?
