Latter Day Saint Keep on Trying

An High Priest of Good Things to Come - Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

Listen Later

Today’s podcast is taken from an October 1999 General Conference address by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Elder Holland is a beloved LDS speaker known for his empathy and understanding of those that struggle and face challenges in life.

In this general conference talk, Elder Holland acknowledges that each of us will face challenges and as such, need to know that at some point things can, and will improve. He testifies that through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, there is a assurance of 'good things to come', especially in times of need. He profoundly declares that "there is help. There is happiness. There really is light at the end of the tunnel. It is the Light of the World, the Bright and Morning Star, the “light that is endless, that can never be darkened”. His is a profound and personal witness and finishes with the profound and inspiring message that "some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come".
