Andie Summers Show Podcast

A mom in Waynesville, Ohio was having a rough day.  Her name is Brittany Reed, and between doctor’s appointments, sports practices and school, she decided that McDonald's was the play for dinner.  She pulls up the drive-thru, places her order, and reached for her wallet and realized she did not have it. She had a backseat of crying children and could not pay for her meal. She told the cashier she would need to cancel her order and come back. That is when the teenage cashier  named Wyatt Jones stepped in and said that will not be necessary and paid for her order. Brittany tried to convince him not to pay for it, but he insisted.

She took to social media and said “I just want his parents to know how KIND & COMPASSIONATE your son was tonight! He made this stressed out momma pause for a moment and realize this is exactly what we parents are trying to do, raise great humans,” Reed continued. “Wyatt, do not let this world change your kind heart young man for its people like YOU that will change this world for the better!”

She also started a GoFundMe campaign for Wyatt to show the extent of her gratitude. The campaign has fundraised more than $30,000!

A dog was found tied to a tree in Indiana with a heartbreaking note from her owner, who said he had lost his job and was about to also lose his home due to the coronavirus pandemic and could no longer keep her.

The note read: “My name is Roadie. I was a rescued puppy from a litter of 10, I was a spoiled girl, my dad gave me my own couch to lay on and my own memory foam bed. “My dad lost his job and soon his home from COVID. Please if you find me give me a good home and love.”

Roadie was picked up by the Johnson County Animal Shelter and was just adopted by a man named Jeremy who is a member of the White River Township Fire Department and will train Roadie to be a search and rescue dog.  Roadie is now the official mascot of the Fire Department!

An Oregon boy wanted to show his support to firefighters and send them a gift. And who could resist Baby Yoda? Carver, a five-year-old boy, told his grandmother that he wanted to help the heroes fighting the fires. His grandmother suggested donating something to a local donation drive. While looking for something to donate, Carver found a Baby Yoda doll and knew it would be perfect. He attached a note that said, “"Thank you, firefighters. Here is a friend for you, in case you get lonely <3 Love, Carver." It was the right gift. Now the firefighters take the doll on calls with them in California, and now Colorado, even documenting its adventures on a Facebook group.
