Dave has Super Bowl fever and wants to talk about the legend of Max McGee, who Martin surprisingly remembers as the first player to be a Super Bowl MVP snub. Cousin Sal and the guys discuss if it’s better to place your Super Bowl bets now or wait to see if anything happens in the next few days. Dave doesn’t think a kicker can win MVP but he likes betting the wide receiver position at (+300) to cover both Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh is trying to get a very old Bengals fan a ticket to the Super Bowl, will he want anything in return? Then Dave thinks Tom Brady to the 49ers could happen and the guys discuss how this could play out; but Martin feels Tom is now committed to Gisele. Dave compares Tom Brady going from a fan at “The Catch” game to quarterback for the 49ers to Jimmy Kimmel going to a taping of David Letterman when Jay Leno was the guest.
New Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel reminds Cousin Sal of a Nick Kroll character and the guys discuss he’s odd airplane call to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Then former Bengals and Browns receiver Andrew Hawkins joins the show to discuss the frugal ways of the Bengals, what makes Joe Burrow special and why his son may turn down tickets to the Super Bowl.
The guys wrap up the show with making their best bets and Sal is disappointed that his wife won’t answer his Winter Olympics question, but will Dave and Martin?
