Jess and Andrew enjoyed a long Friday the 13th weekend at the theater; beginning their odyssey on a Thursday with "Lean on Pete", a film that should remain long in memory. 

We take a walk on the psychotic side with Joaquin Phoenix in "You Were Never Really Here" 

The weekend was rounded off with a tennis match between Sverrir Gudnason (Borg) and Shia LaBeouf (McEnroe) in a film that was far more entertaining than either of us expected.

As the temperature rises (it rose to around 90 in LA today), the quality of movies get better. Jess and Andrew had a great weekend at the movies; taking in showings of "Blockers", the Australian Western "Sweet Country", and the weekend's surprise hit "A Quiet Place". 

In honor of "A Quiet Place", and Friday the 13th coming up this week, we have a discussion about Horror, why we love it, and a couple of movies we would suggest for the Holiday (yes we believe Friday the 13th is a Holiday).

Curious about the new Al Pacino HBO movie, Paterno was given a chance. 

20th Century Women is streaming on Amazon, and a film that we are ashamed we missed when it first came out. Maybe it was the title, maybe the advertising, but we made a mistake passing up on it before.

Andrew revisits "The Misfits", Marilyn Monroe's last film, and a classic that is expiring from Filmstruck soon. 

Paying off the wheel can be painful sometimes, and Irreversible packed a nasty gut punch for us.

Andrew had an alright time watching "Moonrise Kingdom", but may still have some apologizing to do to Wes Anderson fans after this episode. The "Ingrid Goes West" Portion went a bit more smoothly, but the surprise of the week was "The Greatest Showman", Jess and Andrew had a great time with that one. We revisit Peter Bogdanovich's masterpiece "The Last Picture Show", and pay off the wheel with Sean Baker's "Tangerine".
