The weather hasn't been the only thing cooking this past week, we have fish on a variety of species heating up reels predominantly down south coast.Offshore: Couta and  Snoek have been the flavor of the week and the harbor is back in full form.Rock & Surf: Bronze Bream has been the talk of the town up north whereas south coast has the bragging rights on all facets.Freshwater: We have 10 weeks left for Trout (river season) and the Bass news from Alberts and Midmar are rather concerning. The northeast winds and the summer heat have turned the fishing on. Whether you are on the shore or in a boat, the fish are biting!Offshore:  The Couta and tuna have been keeping the offshore anglers very busy. The north has been the place to go but the local waters have held some giants. Rock and surf: The summer fish are here, and the fishing has been good when the weather allows. There have been edibles and drag-peeling inedibles. Freshwater:  The dams and rivers have been very productive for all facets of freshwater fishing. Two months in and 2024 is treating us fisherfolk pretty well. Plenty of fish being caught and some decent conditions.Offshore: The offshore fishing has been fantastic this past week. There have been plenty of fish caught and a lot of methods that have been productive. Rock and surf: The shore angling has been good on both the edible and inedible front. The big seas have scoured out some sanded areas so we hope this will improve the fishing. Freshwater: The bass and carp fishing are picking up with the heat of summer putting the fish in a mood. Summer has definitely flexed its muscles these past few days. Just like the famous soundtrack of Beverly Hills cop, the heat is most definitely on! With temperatures holding over 30 degrees it is a great time if you sell ice cream, sunscreen or water. The only issue or hurdle has been the big surf, making launching a clenching affair…Rock and surf:  The bigger seas have made fishing a bit tricky, but the fish have been biting if you can keep your bait in the feeding zone. The summer fishing has been brilliant with most inedible anglers making trips up north to take advantage of the diamond smashes. The recent rains have made for plenty of colour in the water.Offshore: The dorado have been the main fish on the target list of the boat anglers. Just like that 2024 is in full swing! The freshwater scene is seeing great fish, the summer fish have arrived for the rock and surf guys and the boats are enjoying the gamefish fun along the coast.Offshore:  There have been fish along most of the KZN coast.
