The Anime Addicts talk about of Western Fantasy in anime.

Western Fantasy Definition: High fantasy, or epic fantasy, is a subgenre set in an entirely fictional world rather than our own world. It features high stakes—often world-threatening, epic quests—and is defined by intricate world-building, including unique histories, cultures, and races. Magic is commonly treated as a natural part of this world.
