1 hr 10 min - We talk the FIRST POKEMON MOVIE and Will get's a lesson on RPG's...This week, Sam makes us shatter our rose tinted glasses on the Pokémon gym floor as we revisit the first movie, one we both saw in the cinema at the time it was released and both have fond memories of. Does the film do justice to our nostalgia?
Also, after recently playing through Hogwarts Legacy, Will needs some guidance on RPG's as a whole and Sam is there to offer a nurturing hand.Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
1 hr 5 min - Dr Stone: Why we LOVE this show - GET EXCITED! for season 3...We prepare for season 3 of Dr Stone by revisiting the second season and special episode, and discuss in ramblings and anecdotes, what we think makes this show an amazing piece of media. 58 min - Attack on Titan S4;Part3;Ep1 REVIEW and The Seven Deadliest of Sins...This week we change it up a bit and have two big discussions! Firstly, we review the newest episode of Attack on Titan after the drop of the one our special this month. We talk favourite moments, predictions, and general love of the franchise. Then we shift over to our usual routine of ruining another anime by over analysing it to death! This time, it's the Seven Deadly Sins!

1 hr 2 min - Mushoku Tensei - Season 1, Part 1: Does it lose its way? This week, Will brings Mushoku tensei back after persevering with the first part of series 1. They discuss a lot of the controversy with Rudeus and whether that adds or detracts from the show; they question what makes this show so popular and finally, Will brings some unpopular opinions about the way the series is heading. Let us know your thoughts about the story so far!

52 min - What’s the best GATEWAY into Fairy Tail??This week, we look at the classic Fairy Tail and consider two iterations: first, the first three episodes of the original series (classic) and 2, the movie, Phoenix Priestess! In all their sketchy etchy and shonen glory, we pit them against each other to decide which one, if either, deserves the honour of being a gateway into the Aniverse show.

1 hr 18 min - Summer Wars - The BEST anime movie we've watched so far?Another film special for our boys to explore, and this week they are looking at the RomCom cross sci-fi shonen that is, Summer Wars. This unique take on a virtual world, with it's 2010's technology and blend of futurism and everyday reality, there's plenty for people to enjoy. It's got twists and turns, but does it hook our hosts enough to put it in the Aniverse?

1 hr 19 min - Do It Yourself!! The place where EVERY LONER can feel welcome...This wholesome show has a lot to offer, and has received a lot of praise from Sam in past episodes, but does its low stakes and all female cast have what it takes to hook a newbie? This week, we look at the first three episodes, the jokes, the characters and the plot to decide if it holds up as a quality piece of media, or just a pretty DIY show.

1 hr 13 min - Chainsaw Man - We FIX this show!Despite Will's awful audio this week due to him not checking which microphone he was using, the boys get deep into this weird and fantastical show and manage to come to some pretty big conclusions regarding its quality. Have a listen and let the boys know whether they're talking utter nonsense or they've had the brainwave of the century!

1 hr 19 min - Akiba Maid War: This concept CANNOT work!!This week we once again delve into the wacky world of maid cafés and as you're no doubt aware, it's a bit of a niche! Well, add some animal themed outfits, a few boppy soundtracks and the YAKUZA and you get a fresh take on a classic. But the age old question is, could you show this to an anime novice?

About Anime Against the World
From the publisher's feed
Know anything about anime? Because Will certainly didn't, until his anime-loving, best bud moved his butt all the way from the UK to Japan! As a way to keep in touch, our hosts decided to set up a…
podcast! What's the theme you ask? Well, originally it was all about teaching the novice Will all about anime, and there is a substantial back log of episodes focussed on just this for you to enjoy! This was also under the name Gateway to the Aniverse, so you may come across that title from time to time... Nowadays however, the boys have diversified somewhat, since obviously Will has been promoted to Hobby Weeb, and everyone is welcome! Anime, of course, is still a core part of the show, but it is now much more open ended and honestly, who knows what they will talk about week to week. Hopefully it's entertaining if nothing else, and we hope you can get on board with this weird pen pal podcast and join the Anime community in their battle Against the World!
