1 hr 15 min - Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (2020) - Is this REALLY Dragon Quest? This week we talk a lot less about the show than usual as for some reason, we tangent down rabbit hole after rabbit hole, whether that be about the creator of Pokemon being a real life bug catcher or how we may have come up with the best chapter of Blue Lock to date. Get all that, and some actual discussion of Dragon Quest, as we decide whether this game turned manga turned anime revitalisation can get into the Aniverse!

51 min - Goblin Slayer - Who knew GOBLINS came from the moon...It was hard for the guys to decide whether this one should be put in the Anniverse or not. There's a lot to be said for this depiction of a fantasy anime, but with some controversial themes and downright graphic content, is this show too much to show an anime noob? We discuss Goblin Slayer this week, as well as the progress of the world cup and get festive with Christmas wishes!

1 hr 25 min - Tekken: Blood Vengeance - What is the point of this? This week Will is confused by this marketing attempt by the Tekken franchise. The boys discuss their affinity to the game, and their expectations for a movie based on said game. This movie of 2 halves has a lot to offer and aims high, but does it reach those lofty expectations? Can it do the job of two movies and build up the hype it wants to for this story arc?

1 hr 16 min - Pop Team Epic - The weird, the wacky and the mega hippopotamus...If you know this show, you can probably guess the challenges we faced talking about this. 58 min - Keijo!!!! - The 'Vacuum Butt Cannon' of Sports Anime! This week we watch one of the greatest sports no one has ever heard of, in anime form. The rules are simple: knock your opponent off a platform using nothing more than your bum and breasts! No breasts? No entry! Sounds like the criteria of every night club post 1am... This saucy anime has plenty to unpick and our boys have a lot of fun trying to keep this podcast PG13. Enjoy!

About Anime Against the World
From the publisher's feed
Know anything about anime? Because Will certainly didn't, until his anime-loving, best bud moved his butt all the way from the UK to Japan! As a way to keep in touch, our hosts decided to set up a…
podcast! What's the theme you ask? Well, originally it was all about teaching the novice Will all about anime, and there is a substantial back log of episodes focussed on just this for you to enjoy! This was also under the name Gateway to the Aniverse, so you may come across that title from time to time... Nowadays however, the boys have diversified somewhat, since obviously Will has been promoted to Hobby Weeb, and everyone is welcome! Anime, of course, is still a core part of the show, but it is now much more open ended and honestly, who knows what they will talk about week to week. Hopefully it's entertaining if nothing else, and we hope you can get on board with this weird pen pal podcast and join the Anime community in their battle Against the World!
