Saddle up them horses and get ready for a rodeo. Or at least a mechanical bull and a burger from Hardees. This will be more relevant than other references to Western cowboy culture that you could imagine. Meet Hideki, a Japanese salary man who heads something of a takeover branch of a conglomerate. We meet him reviewing a chocolatier’s business and making sweeping changes once it’s bought out. His fiance who is also his manager has been with him for years and …

Are you ready for the real struggle session? Everyone get into a circle and we’re going to debate the merits of stuffing or potatoes. And if you say anything other than both then you are wrong. Your assets will be seized and your family consigned to the gravy mines for the next seven generations. That’s how we get that wholesome nestle taste that means family. And family is We have quite the theme going this time with dual OEL requests. Tim has Clock Striker. It’s set in the future and after an apocalyptic event. So now there’s a lot of old world super technology floating around. Lady Clock takes on …

It kind of sucks when we get a themed episode thrust upon us. Because we’re very bad at making a theme. Then someone dies and we comb over their catalog for something interesting. Which can also make for a bad episode. So we decided to do two of Val Kilmer’s lesser discussed films together. It doesn’t hurt that we’ve seen both before. That made this a bit of a refresher. First up The Ghost and the Darkness(1996). It’s a move based somewhat on a book which is, itself, based on the deployment of a royal engineer, played by Kilmer, to Africa. He’s there to help construct a rail bridge which …

Behold, I lay in repose absorbing delightful rays from this picture box. Or at least I believe it emits rays. These flattened screens make not have the same properties of the proper tubes which I’m fond of. You there, servant, bring me more grapes that have been fermented and stored until they contain a delicious amount of alcohol. No, I do not recognize this person you brought, Carol, as being a leader. Even if it is only this Garden of Olives. Tim has Shuujin Riku. It’s set in Japan in the near future after an asteroid strike has leveled a good portion of Tokyo. Almost ten years after that happens, …

You’re going to take that football and you’re going to run to the other side. And if the other guys try to stop you, you don’t let them. That’s the famous speech from the Gene Hackman movie, right? Look, we never said we knew all of Gene’s filmography or watched it. We are aware a lot of people put Hoosiers on the top of that list. We figure it must be related to football because we don’t really watch sports movies. With that, we do have a Hackman movie we’d not seen before with The Package(1989). Gene plays a Sergeant who is helping guard nuclear disarmament talks between the US …
