Anime Pulse

This week on Anime Pulse we got round two of previews, nuclear radiation, and sports. Up first Joseph talks about his father's birthday, and Andrew is back on that Street Fighter grind. Then in the industry news an alarm clock designed to give you an excuse to be late. And finally another round of previews with Joseph being kicked from his party twice just to be targeted for assassination, and Andrew has to deal with three sisters while his fragrant flower is about to collapse.

This week on Anime Pulse we got a return to previews, a return of Andrew, and a very empty community topic. Up first Joseph finds out his unboxing stream won't be until late August, and Andrew regales us with his trip to Switzerland and it's really tiny meals. Then in the industry news Netflix gloats about being used mostly for anime. And finally the summer previews round things out with Joseph kissing drunk women as a reborn vending machine after killing the demon lord, and Andrew runs away from cats who killed his friend for their original sin.

Punch, kick, it’s all in the mind. Or that’s what weirdos will tell you. Then you strike them in the face and ask them if that was simply a personal construct or not. Of course they will go call the cops which is the adult version of tattling. Which is really the only reason nihilists and solopsists get away with being smug jerks in a civilized society. Let us bring that around to Chuck Norris. We have Hero and the Terror(1988). A Chuck Norris Canon film. Which means you might be thinking about explosions and wall to wall gunfights. It’s actually about a mute killer that Chuck catches in the …

Who the hell posts descriptions for this show at six PM? Off in the distance you might faintly hear us. Oh boy, six PM, time for another show description! Then the sounds of a comically large wooden mallet crushing an alarm clock. Not because that’s the only way to silence it but because big alarm clock has convinced us that they are disposable. Tim has Radiant. There are evil creatures randomly falling from the sky. Also the world is something of floating islands in amongst the clouds. Not only are these creatures dangerous but merely touching them infects and kills most people. Those that don’t become “wizards” and have a …

This week on Anime Pulse we got some good bloody food, edge lords, and isekai contests. Up first the IRL news has Joseph excited for his upcoming 4 day work week, aka a 3 day weekend, and Andrew is back from his time away to ask us about the anime that give us those vacation vibes. Then in the industry news an upcoming ecchi anime is going to have varying levels of censorship, and KADOKAWA wants you to tell them your isekai stories. And finally in the reviews Joseph shows us how he evolved from an edge lord to a harem protagonist, and Andrew gets back on that cute anime horse girl.

Let’s look over the stack of papers on our desk. Doesn’t seem anyone has died too recently but everyone is talking about scary weather. So it must be summer and that puts us right in the mood to talk about frightening beaches where people die suddenly. No, we’re not talking about sharks or any famous movies featuring them. We have The Fog(1980). Yes, on the heels of making an iconic slasher film, John Carpenter got license to make a movie about ghost pirates. Naturally they called it the fog because that’s what the ghost pirates send in ahead. Which makes a lot of scenes in this movie like an angry …

You might find leprechauns ridiculous and unbelievable. Little gnomish folk with magical powers that hide gold at the end of rainbows? Dismissed with prejudice, you would say. Just as you might dismiss that we would do another manga episode. Yet here we are, in all our glory. So if we can come through, who is to say, truly, that you will never see a lookalike that could hawk you a sugary cereal product in person? You won’t but as a wise bard once sang, don’t stop believing. Tim has Can’t Stop Cursing You. There’s a bunch of curse gods and they like to make deals with mortals. One unnamed curse …

This week on VG Pulse, get ready to talk about Not-E3 and all its Not-E3…uhh…glory? We start off with side notes of work and muggy weather, before heading into the main news where we discuss all the interesting things shown at all the various chunks of Not-E3! We also discuss the many continued failings of Nintendo, such as fresh joycon drift and many canceled preorders! Meanwhile Blumhouse is making a Phasmophobia movie and the indie space continuing to dominate the market! We finish off with talk of food! All this and more up next on VGP 419!! -Aki Music Intro – Atom Bomb Baby by The Five Stars Outro – …

You might not think that we ever get stuck for movies to pick for the show. What with Hollywood alone having been making films for over a century. Giving us a library of media you probably couldn’t watch in your lifetime without sacrificing your personal life and a significant portion of sleep. But that does happen and then we hear about an actor’s passing and it reminds us of their work. We have Walking Tall(1973). The late and sort of great Joe Don Baker stars in this somewhat autobiographical film based on the real life Buford Pusser. In the film, Buford comes back to his hometown after a wrestling career …
