Anime Pulse

Another year, another harvest of actor deaths. We definitely don’t take advantage of this to choose movies or anything. It’s certainly a tribute to their craft. Yes, that’s what we’re going to go with. Who to pick this week? Fuck. We didn’t think that far ahead. Art Metrano it is. We jointly talk about Malibu Express(1985). One of the first movies by Andy Sidaris. A man famous for putting in gratuitous nudity, guns, and explosions. The main character is Cody. He’s a private investigator who’s on his first case investigating or maybe guarding a family. There’s someone stealing chips from the US and selling them to the Soviets. Not that it really matters as this is …

This week on VG Pulse, we found the dragon! We start off by catching up with all the goings on of Kassy, before diving into the regular news where we discuss a lengthy lawsuit, the sad shut down of multiple LittleBigPlanet servers, XBOX gamer pics coming back, and the many unique announcements made during the latest Nintendo Direct! After the news we dive into the Double D’s (that is to say, the Discord Discussions for those uninitiated folk out there), Kas and I give our rocky outlook on The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD’s new button controls, and we finish off with talk of food and anime! All this …

Hark! Who goes there? Long live the king…of Manga. There’s something rotten in the state of manga. It seems we have two volumes and nay a reviewer in sight. Unless thereupon the horizon, there are two figures approaching. They seem to be bearing two volumes which may sate our desire for reviews. Tim revisits My Dearest Self with Malice Aforethought. Eiji is struggling with the gang and them noticing their missing funds. He’s also approached by the Lolita dressed classmate who’s the only one who noticed his personality shift. She blackmails him into going with her to interview the murdered girls’ friend. Apparently Wednesday Watanabe was friends with the dead girl and wants some answers. …

This week on Anime Pulse we got repairs to Joseph's ride, Ufotable's CEO confessing to Tax Fraud, and racing girly horses. Up first Joseph's wallet is taking a beating from all these emergency expenses to keep him income flowing, and Andrew is looking into the best non-romantic duos in anime. Then in the industry news a man is reincarnated as a sword in another world, and some Feminists got angry they weren't hired to be the actor in a traffic PSA. Lastly the reviews have Joseph going back to demon school to decide on best girl, and Andrew puts on his horse jocky outfit, grabs a riding crop, and climbs onto an anthropomorphic horse girl.

This week on Anime Pulse we got a new Pokemon League champion, breaking ground on the very first high school level manga studies department, and having the cutest girl in school recruit you into a game club. Up first IRL news as Joseph breaks out his Fus Ro Dah as he returns to the land of Skyrim, and Andrew is checking out the best anime that no one watched because other anime blotted them out like arrows in the sun. Then in the industry news only a couple topics this week, as Good Smile comes under fire and a high school breaks out the ancient tomes of One Piece to learn their history. And finally in the reviews Joseph avoids being arrested after taking in a high school runaway, and Andrew is a true gamer who joins a gaming club to play games.

You’d better not pout. You’d better not shout. You’d better not ask exactly how and why an actor gaining a whole bunch of weight makes sense in this day and age. Even losing a whole bunch of weight is reserved for nut bags who snort ground up Oscars. So what the hell was Russel Crowe thinking in Unhinged[2019]? Our main protagonist is Rachel, life’s butt monkey. She works as a hairstylist; is always late, drives a shitty Volvo, and her brother has the intellect of a dying bamboo plant. She runs across Crowe in a road rage incident and refuses to apologize and says she’s having a bad day. Crowe decides that she …

This week on Anime Pulse we got a double dose of teasing girls, swimming across the ocean, and working to be the very best that no one ever was. Up first Andrew is asking us to name out top Onii-chans, and Joseph has wrapped up his play through of Void Bastards. Then in the industry news we got topics like confirmation that the next season of Demon Slayer won't be cutting any corners, and the voice behind Jigen from Lupin the III is finally hanging up his hat. Lastly come the reviews with Joseph being tormented by his fetish in the form of a naturally tanned girl, and Andrew being sucked into losing bets with his very obvious love interest.

Thank you for waiting, we’ve had a lot of calls this morning. We’re a little short staffed as it is. Cost cutting procedures, you know how it goes. So, describe your symptoms to me again. Hmm. Yes, I see. It seems we’ve got another case of Abovus Cannus. For cases of, what you might call Updog, we recommend a double dose of manga reviews. Start with Tim and My Dearest Self with Malice Aforethought. What happens when you go to college, get blackout drunk, and wake up three days later with a girlfriend? You shut up and enjoy it. Ignore the bloody bat and large pile of case sitting in your …

This week on Anime Pulse we got the return of Joseph from his 2 week vacation, news that One Piece is coming to a close... soonish, and diving head first into a shitty video game. Up first is IRL news with Joseph giving us the rundown on his trip to Florida, and Andrew gives us the rundown of his trip to become the phantom of the opera. Then in the industry news we got topics like bear paws serving drinks out of a literal hole in the wall, and the amazing ability to turn a poster on its side and sleep next to. And lastly the reviews have return with Joseph getting pissed off at an idiot who buys a terrible video game, and Andrew goes on a trippy journey to learn the secret of a world run by a never ending pattern.

Like a B movie star with a latex allergy, Hollywood has spawned a whole bunch of illegitimate sequels to things that we once enjoyed. Yet we’ve so far been spared at least one wild move that epitomizes the decade it’s from. No, not Back to the Future. Ok, so the second eighties movies they haven’t yet stuck their silver nitrate poisoned cock into. We’re talking Road House(1989). We found out a few of our usual listeners hadn’t seen this magical capsule of late eighties splooge. Patrick Swazye, hot off the heels of Dirty Dancing, is a bouncer. He gets hired to clean up a bar which runs him afoul of the local rich man. …
