The Women in Sports: ElevateHER Summit is a high-impact Michigan Athletics event designed to promote the importance and value of creating opportunities for women in athletics and more Thursday, Oct. 15, at Crisler Center. 

The summit will bring our community together to hear from industry leaders and alumni; and create meaningful professional development, networking and mentorship opportunities for student-athletes, alumni and community members.

Everyone knows the Phantom of the Opera, but what about the story behind the man in the mask before all the subterranean drama? 🎭

"The Opera Ghost", a haunting world premiere gothic drama by Joseph Zettelmaier running weekends October 2nd through 17th, dives deep beneath the Palais Garnier. The show follows Erik as he reflects on his incredible backstory as a carnival attraction, alchemist's apprentice, builder, and composer before becoming the iconic Phantom. (Note: This production includes mature themes, including portrayals of violence, death, and abuse).

KOREA WEEK BEGINS SEPTEMBER 28

AADL and its partners at the U-M Nam Center for Korean Studies and the Korean Cultural Center of Washington, D.C. are excited to announce Korea Week, running from Monday September 28 through Sunday, October 4 with events throughout AADL's libraries. Visit aadl.org/koreaweek for the full line-up, which features events like Korean games and crafts, ink wash painting, a traditional Korean drumming performance, and talks about Korean food, culture, politics, and identities, and learning about the Korean alphabet. 

DOLLY DAY

This Friday, we're all workin' 9-to-5 and then headed to the Downtown Library to celebrate Dolly Day, which goes from 11am to 7:30pm, so maybe you should take the day off or call in sick to attend the whole thing.

We start it off with a Dolly movie marathon, screening the classic 9 to 5 at 11am, followed by Straight Talk at 1:15pm and Steel Magnolias at 3pm. Then it's to the celebration proper which starts at 5:30pm and consists of music, Dolly Day crafts, and plenty of fun photo opportunities with a real life but not actually real Dolly Parton standee and more!

Since 2007, the Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor has been providing local patients, caregivers, and kids with completely free emotional support and care. 

This Wednesday, September 23rd (6–7pm), they’re partnering with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra for an Instrument Petting Zoo! Community members of all ages can try out orchestral instruments, meet musicians, and make a little joyful noise. 🎺🥁
