The Global Warming story was just taking hold as I took my on-air job in 1988. Back then, I was a wet-behind-the-ears meteorology student that trusted the education system, the government, and even NASA. If they all agreed that the planet was warming, then who was I to argue?
It was also this year that changes were occurring in how weather data was collected and then disseminated to the users. I, as the end-user, was introduced to ASOS. A computer that became the new official weather observer.

Every available, every arable plot of soil where water can be assessed will be converted into gardens in the near future. The need will become acute.

Prepare that plot of land now while commercial supplies remain ample to today’s needs.

It is always better to have and not need than need and not have.

Crop failures in North Korea, China, Canada, Australia, and so many other locations meet COVID interruptions; the only logical result will be disruptions of the food chain not seen in many decades.

In this episode of Another Perspective with Scott Stevens, the topic of global food security is addressed. Suppose COVID taught us one that is never to assume that what was once a stable system can be disrupted with relative ease, and planet-wide for that matter. The current set-up requires farmers, good weather, cheap and often time migrant, and therefore mobile labor force, flexible trucking and delivery system to ship the raw good to storage then processing facilities. Once the raw goods have been finished, it's packaged and trucked once again to distributed warehouses before the final ride to the merchant and end consumer. This is a chain with many newly discovered weak links. What can be done to shore up or even cut out some of these costly processes that have crept into the supply-chain during these past 70 years? There are solutions to a system straining under COVID disruptions; let's explore some of them.

As I stepped back from the past week's news flow, I questioned why this Nation is suffering through such civil discord? As I pondered this question, I began to wonder... How REAL are our perceived differences in national policy? Are we really so different from each other that no longer can we speak to each other? Is there no middle ground between us?  Do we break, or can we bend a little, so that stronger together we can flourish once again?

How far apart are these two sides on Education, Environmental Issues, Climate Change, Jobs and Wages, Corporations as a Person, Military and Interventionist policies, Civil Rights vs. 1964 Rulings, corrupt Policing, and Judiciary, and so many more?  We need elections to focus on more of what we can accomplish together rather than destroy the other side.

Elections should be constructive, not destructive.

This topic, time travel, is completely out of my league, yet endlessly fascinates me. I imagine that the concept of time travel began the moment after someone uttered the statement: "I wish I would have...." Or, "I sure would have like to have been there for that." Or just expressing some kind of regret that one's behavior could or would be modified if given a second chance. Certainly the intelligence agencies and military would like the capability to see across time, it makes the fog of war far less uncertain.

Then there is simply the entertainment value of having been there, for what every great event in history one might want to visit, out of time.

These are just considerations of what if it's already been done? What are the ramifications if this is a perfected technology?

It is apparent that between COVID, overleveraged companies, consumers, and governments, a crisis such as the one we are presently experiencing will inevitably result in a seachange in the financial realm. Might the United States, along with so many other countries running on un-backed fiat currencies, face a fiscal crisis of confidence? When the trusted value of these sovereign currencies reverts to the value of everything fiat, that of zero?

It appears that all economies will be unable to reopen fully any time soon. This means that over-indebted entities will be unable to survive this shrunken economy. This screams that a currency crisis is now inevitable. What can you do now?

All the potentials for this outcome are in play today. Now, let's have this discussion because when it becomes apparent that "it's happening," it'll be too late to prepare oneself and family for the new normal that'll soon descend upon us all.

Now with COVID19, the whole game of musical chairs has ended. There simply is not enough money, anywhere, to settle the books.

Fire, honestly, is a scary topic. Why? Because from our very first years of life, we have been admonished by our parents and other authority figures to stay away from fire. ”Don’t get too close, or it will burn you.” Was the common refrain. And they spoke the truth. Getting burned hurts, and it’ll leave a scar too. But after the first or second time of being burned, that lesson was learned. 

Fire, or maybe it’s just the pain of burn that fire imparts, teaches lessons. 

A fire has so many uses. It keeps us warm, alchemizes (cooks) our food, purifies water, coteries wounds, purifies metals, hardens pottery, and lights the way. 

Fire is indispensable. So why has fire been demonized rather than respected for its transformative powers?

Now that the West is burning, once again, let’s talk about fire in the outer world and also what fire, pain, transforms us on the inside.

This is a topic we live and experience each day, whether knowingly or now.
