Another Perspective - July 20, 2020 - So many challenges face humanity at this most important juncture. Our economic system, already near the end of this long expansion, was abruptly halted with COVIV19. The economic toll of COVID is still unknowable, but likely to be greater than all recent wars combined. Now we have the planet and its natural calamities adding more fuel to the fire. 

Are there solutions to be found amidst the problems of the day?  Can we see them, or will we continue to rely on centralized governments to fund/come to the rescue?

Sometime soon, the primary tool that governments have to deploy for these challenges, their respective currencies, will fail to work. We need to be prepared for that eventuality.

What history has, and repeatedly teaches, is that fiat currencies fail, over and over again. 

Digital currencies are maturing in their ability to act as safe-haven assets, as a rapid and secure means of exchange, and probably the gold standard for ease of accounting and being able to deliver integrity within accounting. 

Therefore cryptocurrencies deliver, financial accountability... Exactly what the world needs today.

Let's begin a series on Investing. Today let's begin with a discussion of currencies, what is a currency versus, say money. What are the differences between commodity currency and fiat currency and also what are cryptocurrencies? These do not have to be dry or uninteresting topics, especially since there can be so much money to be made!

On this the second week of July...

A couple of weeks back I did a show that ended with the comment, "Random. Black Swans." Today I feel it necessary to expand on that statement by discussing a few of those Black Swans that are either circling above or have already nested in our backyard. I ask have you noticed them yet?

These seemingly random events are nothing but random and each with its own impact upon our world, personal safety, income, and maintenance of the status quo. Great forces are at work to change the status quo while others stand up with all their life's energy to change it. Do we run and hide, hunker down, or join in the uprising or stand as opposition? We all will soon be asked to take aside in this looming conflict.

I had my first encounter with a member of Antifa this past weekend, and it has completely changed my outlook on the future of this country. A revolution is here, has been underway for some time..and there is no way to avoid this eventuality.

It's best we prepare for what revolution does to a nation's society, infrastructure, economy, and how it impacts one's personal safety. The time to prepare is now!

#11 To Mask or Not to Mask

I find this discussion nearly comical if it weren’t actually such a serious matter..nearly one of life and death.

We have been aware of the flu that originated in #Wuhan China now, for nearly six months; we watched in horror how this new novel coronavirus raged through Wuhan killing hundreds of thousands, in many cases, with frightening speed and lethality. With open borders and travel encouraged to continue, the seeding of this virus was guaranteed to spread globally, now it has. 

So, with a vaccine touted as the only “cure” and until that miracle arrives we much adjust to the “new normal” of social distancing, working from home, wearing a mask, and contact tracing. 

Now that we all have recognized that COVID19 is here for the long-haul, are there other options available to us so that we may remain safe and healthy, outside of mask-wearing?

We go through life looking for the best, the best of whatever we are shopping for at that point in our life. While growing up, we’re shopping for the best boy or girlfriend, the best pair of clothes and eventually the best university to get an education so that we can land the best job. The best of everything to make the best impression.

Life appears to be a search for the best.

What about politics? Do we search for the best candidate, the best party the best platform that'll align with our personal moral code or desire to see policy in action in the outer world? When do we compromise, settle, or hope that one evil is just slightly better than the other? Where to we compromise and what will that compromise cost us down the road? 

Which form of government honors us as individuals, respects the privacy of citizens, and sets the stage for its citizens to thrive?

Because everything has a price.

The world seems to be immersed in "Wokeness," Social Justice Warriors, and the Cancel Culture that has developed as a result of long-existing disparities. Is that a sanity somewhere embedded within these now destructive mobs. Can we, as a civilization wake-up from the wokeness and live in a state of Brotherhood, instead?

Perspective is everything... If you get too close to any picture you’ll never see the whole picture. Let's have a discussion of why and how we come to believe, accept, and then enforce any specific perspective or point of view.

We will look at each of these stages of wokeness phenomena.
