The New York Islanders got off to another slow start and were outshot in the first period 17-4 in a game they lost to the Edmonton Oilers 4-2. The Isles were outskated and outplayed for most of the game. Mathew Barzal kept his goal streak alive and Cal Clutterbuck scored in his return to the lineup, but unless Lane Lambert can get his team to compete from the opening faceoff, they are going to struggle.
