  • The AntiSF Radio Show Whirlpool Galaxy

G’day again and welcome, step right right up to the clown, somebody you may well hear from on our next show. Actually, it’s likely that the clown is me, and those of you that know me, probably know that too. While I ponder my own words, let’s have some story-time right here on the AntiSF Radio show Whirlpool Galaxy.

    In This Show:

    • It's About Time, Sport - by the Lillies - Narrated Nuke
    • Life - by Natalie J.E. Potts - Narrated Marg Essex
    • Natcon 2016 "Of Men & Monsters" Panel discussion part 4 - with Grace Dugan (Moderator), Robert Hood, Jason Nahrung, Kaaron Warren, Liss Caldwell

  • The AntiSF Radio Show Virgo A

Bonjour my friends, my enemies, and everything on the scale inside or outside that system of measurement. I’m Nuke, as Marie said at the beginning of this show, and I’m here to host Virgo A, a supergiant elliptical galaxy in the constellation Virgo. One of the most massive galaxies in the local universe, it is notable for its large population of globular clusters—M87 contains about 12,000 compared to the 150–200 orbiting the Milky Way—and its jet of energetic plasma that originates at the core and extends outward at least 1,500 parsecs (4,900 light-years), travelling at relativistic speed. It is one of the brightest radio sources in the sky, and is a popular target for both amateur astronomy observations and professional astronomy study.

Also worthy of study are our stories, and you’ll have two delivered to your audio receptors today, along with part 3 of our panel discussion about Men and Monsters, which really ought to be humans and monsters.

    In This Show:

    • Selfie - by Harris Tobias - narrated Marg Essex
    • The City - by Mark Tremble
    • Natcon 2016 "Of Men & Monsters" Panel discussion part 3 - with Grace Dugan (Moderator), Robert Hood, Jason Nahrung, Kaaron Warren, Liss Caldwell

  • The AntiSF Radio Show Ursa Minor Dwarf

G’day sentients present and future. Welcome to the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Ursa Minor Dwarf, a spheroidal Milky way satellite, made up mainly of older stars with little to no ongoing star formation. Its centre is around 225,000 light years distant from here. So perhaps if you’re there now, it’s 225,000 years into the future. Inn part, isn’t the future what stories are all about? Ponder that while we deepdive into storytime.

Two stories in this show, and part two of the “Of Men and Monsters” panel discussion.

    In This Show:

    • Trust Is a Hand Full Of Sand - by Laurie Bell
    • The Patent Office - by Kevin J. Phyland
    • Natcon 2016 "Of Men & Monsters" Panel discussion part 2 - with Grace Dugan (Moderator), Robert Hood, Jason Nahrung, Kaaron Warren, Liss Caldwell

  • The AntiSF Radio Show Triangulum Galaxy

Triangulum, triangle, triangulation. G’day speculative fiction nuts and wheels, welcome to the AntipodeanSF Radio Show that works out the distance to the nearest stars, Triangulum Galaxy, a spiral pinwheel roughly 3 million light-years (ly) from Earth. This agglomeration is the third-largest member of the Local Group of galaxies, behind the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy. It is one of the most distant permanent objects that can be viewed with the naked eye. Go stretch your eyeballs on a really dark night in the desert...

    In This Show:

    • Mr Bensen - by Zeb Carter
    • Raising Ghosts By Way Of Japan - by Matt Thompson
    • Natcon 2016 "Of Men & Monsters" Panel discussion part 1 - with: Grace Dugan (Moderator), Robert Hood, Jason Nahrung, Kaaron Warren, Liss Caldwell

Great scotty dog. It’s that time again. Hail and welcome to the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Superantennae, something that appeals to the amateur radio operator in me. We’re talking superluminous infrared Seyfert here. So let’s hop into it and start telling stories. I’m Nuke by the way, your host and editor, and thanks for joining me for a tripod of fiction from around the world.

  • The AntiSF Radio Show Stephan's Quintet

Aloha, Guten Tag, Giinagay. Welcome to the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Stephan’s Quintet, a group of five that sports a mysterious energy-emitting filament in intergalactic space. Dare we ask? Well, that’s what I’m here for — to ask, to elucidate, and to obfuscate again. I’m Nuke, host and editor, and I’ll happily tell you that we have two flash fiction stories in today’s show, and both of them by new voices to AntiSF’s extended family of authors.

    In This Show:

    • The Guests — by Calvin Demmer
    • Successful — by Michael Zhao
    • Panel presentation "The Fall & Rise Of The Short Story", at Contact 2016 — Simon Brown, Angela Slatter, Cat Sparks, Tehani Wessely, Rob Taylor (part 6)

  • The AntiSF Radio Show Spindle Galaxy

Go hunting, go fishing, go greeting, and this is the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Spindle Galaxy, imaged nicely side-on by the Hubble Space Telescope in my favourite constellation, Draco. Hang on, though, because there is another candidate for Spindle Galaxy. Things are not what they seem, although I must insist that I’m Nuke, your host and editor, and it’s time to jump into two stories that turn things downside up.

I’m sure you agree, and thanks for joining me.

How great is your love, and what would you do if you woke up in the woods? Well, let’s find out about the latter first.

    On This Show:

    • Waking Up In The Woods — by Jason Bougger
    • No Greater Love — by Wes Parish
    • Panel presentation "The Fall & Rise Of The Short Story", at Contact 2016 — Simon Brown, Angela Slatter, Cat Sparks, Tehani Wessely, Rob Taylor (part 5)

  • The AntiSF Radio Show Sombrero Galaxy

Welcome, sentients far and wide, this is the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Sombrero Galaxy, and I am Nuke, your host and editor. Thanks for lending your processing power to the apprehension of these speculative audio tales. It’s story time, folks. And as for the sombrero, it’s only about a third of the size of our own monster, but it’s bright, with a prominent dust lane. Take a look, and perhaps visit some time. It’s only 31 million light years distant. But let’s come home.

In today’s show we’ll hear from two first-timers here at AntiSF, Colby Smith and Pamela Jeffs, and you’ll hear the next installment in “The Fall and Rise Of The Short Story”, a panel discussion from Contact 2016.

    In This Show:

    • Flesh Is Frost Is Dust — by Colby Smith
    • Air And Water — by Pamela Jeffs
    • Panel presentation "The Fall & Rise Of The Short Story", at Contact 2016 — Simon Brown, Angela Slatter, Cat Sparks, Tehani Wessely, Rob Taylor (part 4)
