  • #245 Richard Baxter
Richard Baxter has tasked himself with the duty of resurrecting one of Canada's most famous recording studios, Le Studio in Morin Heights Quebec. Le Studio was a recording studio about 100kms north of Montreal that has been abandoned for almost 15 years. When completed, the old studio will be a museum and a functioning recording studio. Le Studio was almost destroyed in a fire that took most of the studio in 2017. Luckily the important part of the studio was spared and that's what Richard is rebuilding shovel by shovel and brick by brick. Truly inspirational!

  • Best of Episode with Al Nolan
    200 episodes ago! Enjoy
This episode was recorded in June of 2015.  As I mention in the episode, Al Nolan is a very important character in my life.  I joined his band in the spring of 1990 with misaligned intentions and was forever changed from then on.  We experienced our first real tour together, nearly died in a van crash and had some laughs along the way.  We also had a different point of view regarding band dynamics, but we soldiered on!
In this episode, we talked about how Al started as a drama kid in high school, to one of the most revered vocalist in Canadian punk rock.  Great catch up with an old dear friend.

  • #240 Tino Valpa of Pine Hill Records
Tino Valpa is the owner of Pine Hill Records and he is based in New Hampshire. As the owner of a punk label, there's a line drawn on what you want to release and what you need to release. Tino has gone out of his comfort zone by putting a record together with the legendary Sol Yaged. Sol Yaged has played jazz clarinet with the greats since 1935. Regrettably, Sol passed away the day the records were delivered from the pressing plant May 16 2019. He was 96 years old. Tino is releasing the album with a memorial show on September 7th.
