Adam Sewell is a musician and artist manager as well as a staple in the Toronto Music scene for many years. Adam and I first met in the early 90’s when his band Monster Voodoo Machine needed a sound guy. Yours truly took the gig for a few small tours while I was in between tours with SNFU. Adam was the perfect guest with so much optimism on the music industry. It was a joy to talk with him!

I first met Jim Norton when he was in Toronto on tour with a band I can’t remember. He was then going to be the tour manager for Down By Law where my first band Trigger Happy were to be opening for on our 2nd tour. The Trigger Happy tour was cut short when our Van crashed into a semi truck on Rogers pass in BC. Jim eventually moved to Toronto to be in the new version of the band and to be our bass player. I played drums in that version for about 4 months. Long story short, Jim went back on tour with bands I forget the names of, and we have kept in touch ever since. Jim is a New Jersey resident working as a Technical Director (same as me) at a live venue. Always a great conversation and there are some great stories in this episode.

Ivan Irwin not only was a defensemen for the New York Rangers and Montreal Canadians in the 1950’s but he was a friend of our family for well over 35 years. I first met Ivan when I was a 10 year old kid. He was the new beau of our family friend Peg. As a kid, I’d never met “new boyfriends” of my parents friends. Ivan was a kind and gentle soul from as long as I can remember. He died peacefully with his family at his side February 11th at 4:45AM at the age of 91. Condolences to his family, friends and all who met the legend.

Chuck Dailey played bass in Canada’s “The Salads” from the late 90’s to the mid 2000’s. The Salads were always a great show to watch and be a part of. The band emoted good times always! Recently Chuck has been playing in “I Mother Earth” and has been selling out theatres all over Canada. Chuck has always been a very personable and humble guy. There’s a sense of pride and happiness to be on stage playing music and it shows in his enthusiasm and love of music when he’s playing. Chuck is also a DJ on a radio station in Prince Edward County 99.3 County Radio.

Anna and Mike are the two members of Toronto’s Vox Somnia. Vox Somnia put out an EP and are working on new material for a hopeful 2019 release. Never concerned on what direction their band should go in, Mike and Anna have always stayed true to their own uniqueness as well as their look on the 80’s. With a realistic look on music vs success, Vox Somnia is enroute to bigger and greater things and is a band to look out for.

Michael Hall is a professional guitar player that came up through the 70’s and 80’s. As a trained guitarist, Michael joined Canada’s “Killer Dwarfs” playing everywhere in the North America that would have them. Having some success with MTV and Much Music, the Dwarfs were on fire. That fire lasted until the dawn of grunge and alternative bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam put them and allot of bands out of business. Michael has spent the last 30 plus years adapting to the music industry’s ever changing landscape and has always managed to put clothes on backs and food on tables with nothing more than a little rock n’ roll.
