Katie and the rest of her friends meet up at Candy's hunting lodge.  Jackson knows there is something going on and demands to know what it is.

Forrest's Judgement
Katie finds Forrest's phone number and calls him.  Demanding he meet her for some answers.  He shows up before school.  He tells her she needs to stay away from Seekers.  They can never be saved.  Jackson will turn evil and there is nothing she can do about it. 
Doubt and fear claw into Katie's mind thinking she is doing the wrong thing in trusting Jackson.

David Knows
Katie returned to school where she gets into an argument with Miss Smith.  The wolf spirit deciding it was going break out, Katie ran out of the school.  Running towards the woods she was stopped by David.  Who in turn seen her turn into a wolf.
Jackson showed his black panther form to David.
Katie unable to turn back into human left David and went with Jackson into the woods.  Where they found a couple of bodies.

A New Member
Jackson and Katie drive to meet the gang who are deciding if they want Lizzy to be the leader  of the gang.  Jackson tries and talks Katie into not telling them he is a Seeker.  Katie wants to be honest and up front as possible with her friends.
Katie tells the group who Jackson is and he was there when Sam died.  In the end, the group decided to have Jackson be a part of their team.  
Candace tells Katie Jackson is just as rich as her family.   Their families have been friends for years.  Her family also has a hunting lodge they could use.

Letting Go
Jackson helps Katie get home where her mom quickly rushes her to a hospital.  While she is there she is questions by Sheriff Tate who gets frustrated when Katie refuses to answer any questions.
Her mom becomes suspicious of Jackson and gets more frustrated when he loans her his vehicle to use.  
Katie finally goes to the Black home where she knows they will be at church and not at home.  She goes into Sam's room where it looked exactly the way Sam had left it.  David enters the room and she is finally able to show her emotions.
David and Jackson meet for the first time where Jackson admits to David Samantha was murdered.

Answers
Jackson finally explains his story and how he became a Seeker.  He tells her of his plight and what really happened at Sam's death.  He asks her to forgive him and if she could allow him to join her team.

Refuge
Jackson finds Katie in her wrecked car.  He brings her to a small cabin where he doctors her wounds.  Katie cannot remember Sam's death until she picks up a pawn from a chess board.  She tries and fights Jackson until she realizes she doesn't have the ability to change into a wolf.

Forrest
Katie finally meets Forrest the owner of the cabin they have been using.  He sees her in the library where she realizes he may have answers she has been desperately needing.  She makes arrangements to meet him after school.
She tells Lizzy and Tyler about her meeting and cannot figure out why Lizzy is acting strange.  She goes to the meeting place only to find Forrest didn't show up.  David is there wanting information about his sister's death. 
Katie gets into a fight with Lizzy.  She gets into her sports car and races up the canyon only to hit slushy snow.  Her car capitulates into the ravine where she knows she is in big trouble.

Life without Sam
Katie struggles with her new reality.  She can't face David.  She blames herself for trusting Jackson.  She wishes she could make changes.  Going to to Sam's funeral David tries to talk to her.  She was able to avoid him.  She stops talking to her friends and suppresses her feelings.

Samantha Black
Katie and the gang are at Lizzy's house when she realizes Samantha can hear them speak to each other  with their minds.  Katie has a good time seeing Sam go through symptoms of becoming a were animal.  
Sam talks Katie into only having herself and Lizzy at the cabin when she is about to change.  Katie has misgivings but gives into Sam's desires.  
She is standing outside the cabin when Jackson distracts her.  As she is talking to him, she realizes she has stepped away from the cabin.  She hears a scream, running into the Cabin she finds Sam breathing her last breath.
