With a strong background in media and management, she spent nearly two decades as a radio jockey and programming head and head of administration before following her heart into the world of children’s literature and storytelling.About the StoryA beautiful nostalgic story from old Kerala village life, filled with childhood memories, mango trees, jackfruit trees, banana plants, traditional Kerala food, and the love of Ammamma. When Ammamma was a little girl, the house was small, but there was a big green grove around it. Almost every home in Kerala had mango trees, jackfruit trees, coconut trees, and banana plants. Children spent their days climbing trees, plucking ripe mangoes, eating sweet jackfruit, and enjoying nature with family and friends. Fresh fruits were not bought from shops in those days. They came straight from the backyard.Ammamma still remembers the delicious chakka (jackfruit) dishes, mango recipes, banana fritters, and homemade snacks her mother lovingly prepared for her during childhood. Today, even though the big family groves have disappeared and many fruits are store-bought, Ammamma continues to make the same traditional Kerala dishes for her children and grandchildren with love and care. This heartwarming Kerala childhood story also shares an important message for children and families today — plant more trees, protect nature, grow food at home, and bring back the beauty of green village life in Kerala. An original story by Anjali Rajan Dileep, beloved storyteller, reading advocate, and lover of children’s stories.Share your child's name with us :If you would like your child’s name to be included in one of our upcoming stories, please follow us on Instagram and Spotify, and subscribe to our YouTube channel. You can connect with us on Instagram and send us your child’s name in both English and Malayalam. If you enjoy the stories from Apple Story Club, do support us by:❤️ Subscribing to our YouTube channel❤️ Following our Instagram pageAt Apple Story Club, we believe stories help children grow wiser, kinder, and more confident.#applestoryclub #malayalambedtimestoriesforchildren #moralstories #spotifypodcast #anjairajandileepchildrensstoryteller #bedtimestoriesforkids #moralstories #animalstoriesforkids #malayalamfolktales #muthassikadhakal #storiesfromkerala #keralastories #storiesaboutnature #worldenviromentday2026 #readingday2026
