John H. Slate is an author and city archivist for the City of Dallas, where he is responsible for historic city government records in the Dallas Municipal Archives. John has written numerous articles on archives, photography, music, and Texas history and is the author or co-author of four Arcadia Images of America series books. He is also an actor with an IMDb entry for his fine appearance in the movie Slacker.
