Over the years, the more you deer hunt, the more you learn. From the summer months to the rut, you are constantly tracking target bucks and your young studs. When hunting season comes around, that is the time when you learn the most about your deer. You can see their patterns, how dominant of a buck they really are, and you begin to see what their flaw is that will give you a shot opportunity. However, each buck is different, they each have their own personalities. One buck can be a traveler that disappears for weeks at a time, while another could be a total home body. The real question is, how much of that past history can you apply to your current target buck? On this episode of the Raised Hunting Podcast, we dive into our history books and take a look at how we hunted our mature bucks over the years. We look at the patterns these deer have had, how dominant they were, and where their core areas have been to try and find tactics we can use on our current target bucks. From year to year each deer is different, however you can pick out strategies that have worked to give you the best chance at your current bucks.
