The cropping industry is raising questions about the performance of the farm chemicals regulator. 

The latest quarterly report from the from the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority that just under 55 percent of application assessments for new chemicals are being completed on time. 

Croplife warns it puts Australian producers at a disadvantage on a global stage.
