La artista que entrevistamos en este episodio, vive en la Ciudad de México. Alicia es artista escénica, curadora, gestora y productora; originaria de Ciudad Valles, del estado de San Luis Potosí.
Es co-fundadora y co-directora artística de Teatro Línea de Sombra (TLS) al lado de Jorge Vargas, cuya compañía es una de las más emblemáticas en el panorama del teatro nacional; que ha realizado montajes de diversos formatos y ha establecido colaboraciones internacionales con agrupaciones como Mime Omnibus de Montreal o Akhe Group de Rusia. En los últimos 10 años de creaciones de la compañía ha sido también co- directora artística , gestora, productora y coordinadora de los proyectos internacionales de las creaciones de TLS; los cuales han girado nacionalmente y se han presentado en más de 40 festivales internacionales en 20 diferentes países. Programa y coordina el ‘Encuentro Internacional de Teatro del Cuerpo’, que cada año ha tenido lugar en la Ciudad de Querétaro y actualmente es curadora y productora ejecutiva de ‘Transversales’.
En cine, forma parte del largometraje ‘Norteado’, bajo la dirección de Rigoberto Perezcano, con un personaje protagónico de una historia de migrantes en la ciudad de Tijuana; película que la hace merecedora del Premio La Perla Negra a Mejor Actriz en el Festival de Abu Dhabi en 2009.
The artist we interviewed today lives in Mexico City. Alicia is a performing artist, curator, manager, and producer, originally from San Luis Potosí, Mexico. She is co-founder and artistic co-director of Teatro Línea de Sombra (TLS) with Jorge Vargas. This company is one of the most emblematic in the landscape of Mexican theater. It has made a variety of different types of live performances and has established collaborations with groups such as Mime Omnibus from Montreal or Akhe Group from Russia. In the last ten (10) years of the company's creation, she has also been artistic co-director, manager, producer of the creations of TLS and coordinator of the international projects; which have toured nationally and have been presented in more than 40 international festivals in 20 different countries. TLS organizes the international theater meeting the ‘Encuentro Internacional de Teatro del Cuerpo’ that has taken place every year in the City of Queretaro, MX, and she is currently curator and executive producer of the ‘Transversales’ meeting.
She has acted in films, most notable being the feature film ‘Norteado’, under the direction of Rigoberto Perezcano where she is the leading character from a story of migrants in the city of Tijuana. Her performance in this film earned her the The Black Pearl Award for Best Actress at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival in 2009.
