1981: bus services in provinces were cancelled in CIE dispute.
1987: 1,400 post offices were to offer banking services.
1971: New housing estates were welcomed in Kilrush.
1981: five people died in clare accident last week, 4 of them being young.
That was The Specials with Ghost Town – the biggest song on this day in 1981.
Onto music news on this day In 1975 Bob Marley and the Wailers played the first of two nights at The Lyceum, London, and both nights were recorded for the November released 'live' album, featuring the single 'No Woman No Cry.'
1995 Robbie Williams left British Boy Band Take That. The group had scored six UK No.1 singles and two No.1 albums with Robbie in the group. As a solo artist Williams went on to score seven UK No. 1 singles, and all but one of his 14 studio albums reached No. 1 in the UK.
And finally celebrity birthdays on this day – actor David Hasselhoff was born in America in 1952 and singer Tom Fletcher was born in the UK on this day in 1985 and this is one of his songs.
