Are we finally going to solve the housing crisis?

Earlier this week, the Leader of the Opposition Sir Keir Starmer came out in favour of building 1.5 million new homes if elected. Sir Keir also described himself as a YIMBY or ‘Yes in my back yard’ because he opposes new homes getting blocked by local objections.
