Today we pull back the curtain and show you just exactly where we record this splendid podcast... it's not where you think... it's far worse than that...

We swapped some very different things this time. I asked Flick to watch one of my favourite 80's films "Badgad Cafe". It's a lovely story of friendship, magic, and according to Flick "troubling Lederhosen".

I listened to "The Pretty Reckless" a band that has a woman who was a child and then did something involving the Grinch?

To be honest I only ever half listen...

After the success of swapping Green Day and Top 10 we try out the world of YA Fiction and 90's Alt-pop-rock-punk.

Flick has a crack at finding some love in the seminal 90's classic "1992 The Love Album" by Carter USM and I have to cope with clones, drugs, and big Scottish body guards in "The House of the Scorpion" by Nancy Farmer.

I can't say we have a happy time, and we're just a bit annoyed with each other...

Oh, and the Audio is a bit 'meh' it was recorded in a bit of a bouncy room.

This week, after spending so long hating most of what we have to offer... there is an unexpected lull.

Flick has asked me to look at the Green Day album "Warning" and I wanted her to read the Alan Moore classic "Top Ten" with Gene Ha and Zander Cannon.

Yes it's punk pop rock for the grump, and the first ever comic book for Flick.

So how do we get on?

***ADULT THEMES AND LOTS OF BLEEPED SWEARS***

As you'll hear in this episode, Flick has had very little sleep... very little, which means that she's not holding back with the language.

Most for the more direct 'fruity' language has been bleeped, but there's also a lot of conversation about adult themes.

We review my choice for Listen To which is the splendid "Uncle Mort's North Country" by Peter Tinniswood and Flick's choice for Look At the classic chick-flick "How to be Single".

And then it gets a bit tense.

and lastly, this is the video that made me want to learn. They’re called Jordan and Tat – they have dominated the world. They are world class dancers, they do not have full time jobs they fly everywhere competing and teaching full time.  This is years ago but it’s still an iconic routine in the dance world. They are THE best and I recent met him after 15 years of dancing.

It's time to set out our stall...

Flick is a wispy snowflake who eats avocado and I'm (John) a grumpy middle-aged white man who is confused by the modern world.

OK, that's only partially true.

Flick and I met when I gave Flick a job in Communications at a business (we won't say where), and we became friends almost instantly, even though we have very little culture in common. Yes we like the things that EVERYONE likes, but the other stuff? Not so much.

So let us introduce ourselves, our new podcast and the challenges that we set each other that involve 70's electronica and West Coast Dancing.
