There’s a zoo near where I live that proudly teaches kids nothing separates them from the animals. Of course, they don’t mention the big fence that does! But this is a dangerous teaching.
If we’re just animals, then why should we value life? Animals don’t. Why not get rid of spare kids like spare cats? We’re already seeing this with abortion.
Or why should we behave morally? Animals don’t have a moral code. And yet, we know that some things are right and wrong. Why?
Well, because we aren’t just animals. We are indeed separate from them because we’re uniquely created in the image of God, and accountable to our Creator.
