With barely any weapons but a brutal level of strategy, Güemes’ “Infernales” turned Northern Argentina into a nightmare for the royalists—using ambushes, lightning attacks, and local knowledge that a professional army just couldn’t match. How did they pull it off? Why didn’t Buenos Aires fully back them?
