Armchair Adventures: A Join-In Story Podcast for Kids

Uncle Chris is looking after the Armchair Adventures Travel Agency, while Connie is preparing for the launch of Season 6 of Armchair Adventures.

To kick things off, Uncle Chris takes us back to 'Ye Olde England' and part one of 'A Shakespeare Adventure' from Season 4.

In the episode, Connie needs help with her Shakespeare essay, so she asks Uncle Chris and his community theatre company to lend her a hand!

‘It feels quite royal in here, almost like we are at the Tudor court…’

🫅📜✨

A bit rusty on their Shakespearean knowledge, Uncle Chris takes his theatre company back in time to Tudor, England, to gather the facts as they happen. But when he accidentally offends Queen Elizabeth the 1st, the gang must run from her guards - who are trying to cut off their heads!

Come with us and visit the sights, sounds and people of ye olde England- but don’t forget your nose pegs adventurers. It’s a bit whiffy…

Things had been going well at the Olympics for Connie, Uncle Chris and his community theatre company, as they faced the Greek Gods and Goddesses in battle for their lives! Of course, they couldn't have done it without the help of their new friend – Queen of the Gods – Hera!

However, Zeus ⚡🔱 became suspicious and stopped her from helping us, leaving us on our own to face Poseidon and Zeus himself!

“Wait a minute…Hera…your mascot is a peacock…have you been helping the mortals?!” 🦚

Will Connie overcome her stage fright and show Zeus what for in the 200 meters? Will the gang all get back home in one piece?! 🏃🏼‍♀️

Join us for part 2 of A Greek God's Olympic Adventure and see if Connie manages to save the day! 😃

Connie is playing Hera, Queen of the Gods, in her school play, but she’s finding the pressure a lot to deal with and keeps freezing up in rehearsals… 🎭

“This is a lovely costume…buuuuut… I’m playing Hera, Queen of the Gods. I don’t think I’ll do it justice!”

Wanting her to believe in herself, Uncle Chris and his trusty community theatre company take her back to ancient Greece to meet the Gods themselves for some inspiration! ⋆༺𓆩🏛️🍇𓆪༻⋆

But no sooner have they arrived, Uncle Chris puts his foot in it and angers Zeus, who wants to kill them all for intruding into his home on Mount Olympus! ⛰️

Thinking fast, Hera suggests challenging us to an Olympic games- Gods vs mortals…there’s only one problem…we have to beat them in every event to survive! 🏟️🥇

Will Connie learn to work under pressure? Can Uncle Chris and his community theatre company take on the Gods and win?

Join us for a fun-packed, Olympic adventure to ancient Greece to find out! 😊

Connie’s decorating the art party at school and our lovely customer Pauline is looking for some creative inspiration! Seeing that Connie’s ordering a lot of single-use plastic for the event, Pauline takes them on an Armchair Adventure to Plastic Shed to learn more about plastic waste while they get a bit arty!  ♻️🎨

“There is this amazing arts organisation called Plastic Shed I’d like to visit. It’s run by an artist called Caitlin, and shemakes art using recycled plastic.”

When they arrive, they see a beautiful mural showing what plastic waste does to the environment- there’s a sea turtle trapped in plastic, a polar bear on melting ice, and a hermit crab having to use a traffic cone as a shell!🐢🐻‍❄️🐚

Caitlin left us a note saying it was set to be dismantled, so while we waited to meet her, the gang decided to go on an adventure inside the mural and meet the animals and hear their stories!  The only problem is, Caitlin came back early...and started taking apart the Mural with everyone still inside! 😬

Will they get to meet all the animals before it's too late? Will Connie and her customers end up taken apart too!! Join us for a fun-packed, arty adventure at Plastic Shed to find out! 🎧 🎶
