  • OCD AND MORTALITY: THE FEAR OF DEATH: PREPARING FOR LIFE'S ONLY CERTAINTY

OCD AND MORTALITY: THE FEAR OF DEATH: PREPARING FOR LIFE'S ONLY CERTAINTY

In this episode, I address the common fear of death,

particularly among individuals with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I share a personal anecdote about my near-death experience at age 7 and discuss methods I use to cope with the fear of death in my daily life. The episode offers suggestions for managing this fear, emphasizing that regardless of one's
beliefs (religious, spiritual, or non-religious), there are practical steps one can take to alleviate anxiety and uncertainty surrounding death.

DON'T LET OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER STEAL YOUR JOY: MY CONVERSATION WITH JANAYA

In today’s episode, I speak with Janaya, who is a naturopath

and a mother living in Sydney, Australia. She has lived with Obsessive Compulsive disorder since the age of 17. She was diagnosed with OCD two years ago.

Janya does not have contamination OCD and she does not have counting rituals. One of her biggest triggers is anything that bring her joy or things that should be celebrated. Janaya describes how she has lived with OCD in the past and the steps she took to overcome it after 20 years. She also talks a bit about her profession as a naturopath and how she helps others who have mental illnesses or simply want to live a healthier lifestyle. I hope you enjoy my conversation with Janaya and that it helps you feel less alone in your struggles. She mentioned OCD ADVOCATES ON INSTAGRAM and I have listed some of them in

  • MY PERSONAL ENCOUNTER WITH OCD: I WAS OBSESSED WITH A FRIEND

    MY PERSONAL

ENCOUNTER WITH OCD: I WAS OBSESSED WITH A FRIEND

In today’s episode, I deconstruct my current obsession. While
I am happy to say that I am at the end of this OCD spell, which has lasted over five years, I still have to be very cautious
of triggers. Instead of avoiding these triggers, I use them for exposure therapy, turning them into a beneficial tool for healing.

Deconstructing this spell was easier because it is the most

recent.  Despite the challenges and social consequences, it was during this spell that I learned how my obsessions start. I can now use this to hopefully prevent new obsessions in the future. So,
in a way, this obsession was a blessing to me.

Thank you so much for listening. Stay tuned for more

interviews with others who are living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
