I have been watching on social media where house flippers and DIYers have been taking some stunning homes and quite frankly ruining them with brick stains and chalk paint. You see this on some of the HGTV shows and I am seeing more and more of it on social media.

Some of these projects have been cheered on by people that just love to put that stuff everywhere. The issue as I see it... is that you took a nice original house with some beautiful architectural details and ruined them...while damaging your homes value at the same time.

Smart Home tech makes a ton of people nervous... maybe its not understanding its security or lack of understanding about how it all works. I couldn't believe it either. In Seattle they have a (yes this is what they call it) "Housing Affordability" law that forces homeowners to pay this fee on a building permit. We will talk with the Institute for Justice about how they are trying to help out the homeowners by fighting back on this expensive fee for a remodel.
