In A WOLF CALLED FIRE, Warm, the younger and smaller brother of Swift (the protagonist of A Wolf Called Wander) must find the warrior in his own heart to protect his pack and earn his alpha name. A fast-paced survival story inspired by Wolf 8, a real Yellowstone wolf who started as the smallest in his pack and grew up to be a collaborative and generous patriarch of the largest pack. Warm, the timid one.Warm, the watcher.Warm, the only one.I look to the wolf star for courage, but all I feel is small. Warm is the smallest pup, the one his father calls the heart of the pack. But all Warm sees is his bigger siblings. With a little help from a wise pup watcher, Warm begins to understand the vital role an omega wolf (the lowest rank in the pack) plays—equally as important as the alpha. Just as Warm is finding his place, enemy wolves come to destroy and scatter the pack. Warm helps lead the pups away from the fight, only to find himself alone with four pups to defend and feed. Can he be both the heart and the head of a new pack? Does he have to choose the aggressive leadership style of his father and brothers? Or is there another way?

William Franklin Guest was an original member of the iconic, soulful, multi-Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group, Gladys Knight & the Pips. He was there when the group formed out of friendships and family, playing in churches back in 1952. He was with them for nearly four decades, known as the best dancer of the group, on stage performing hits like Midnight Train To Georgia, I've Got to Use My Imagination, Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me, and I Heard It Through the Grapevine. His story has never been told.Until now. With the release of Midnight Train from Georgia, musical fans will learn not only the details of his storied life, but they will read an inspiring tale about the bonds of family, love, church and music. They will also learn a bit about the music industry and the birth of Motown. It is the time of The Apollo, Soul Train, Ed Sullivan Show, and Dick Clark. It’s both a personal story – and one of music history. William’s sister-in-law, Dhyana Ziegler, also a songwriter, interviewed William over several years before he died in 2015. The book, which received the Bronze from the Fall 2024 BookFest Awards and an International Impact Book Award in December, 2024, is based off of edited transcripts of those interviews, along with some commentary from Dhyana. Midnight Train from Georgia chronicles the incredible rise of Gladys Knight and the Pips from their origins singing in a small Atlanta church to their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. When two families' destinies intertwined at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, they discover the extraordinary musical talents of their children. Young cousins William, Eleanor Guest, Gladys, Brenda Knight, and Bubba Knight unite their heavenly vocals to form The Pips gospel choir. We follow William from his formative years in Atlanta, where his love of music is kindled by evenings listening to his family perform rhythmic gospel songs on their porch. The Pips' journey takes them from these humble back-porch jam sessions to struggle and sacrifice on the road to stardom. With faith, fortitude and William's grandmother's lessons to guide them, the group overcomes adversity through the transcendent power of their music.
I’m always askingquestions. The fun begins when you startresearching for answers. Such as…Why do words jump into ourheads without fair warning of their impact? Plus…can someone invest way too much energy into their creativity? I’m Arroe… I am a daily writer. A silent wolf. I stand onthe sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate. Alretha Thomas, now a TV actress, award-winning playwright, and an award-winning novelist, had to overcome a childhood of trauma before becoming successful. After suffering second-degree burns as a three-year-old that forced her to have to learn how to walk again, she was molested repeatedly by a family associate. In elementary school she suffered beatings at the hands of her step-father. By age 14, she found her mother dead in their house. With resilience and faith, she has gone on to have a very fruitful career in the creative arts. Her newest novel, The Daughter Between Them, was just named one of the best indie thrillers of the year by Kirkus Reviews. Over a combined half-million copies of her earlier books have been sold and downloaded. The Daughter Between Them is a psychological thriller about two mothers that is told in two timelines—2009 and 2019. One is an elementary school nurse living in New York who battles mental health issues. The other is a news reporter living in California who aspires to be the first African American editor at the newspaper where she works. Both women are harboring life-changing secrets, involving a missing child and an attack. As the story unfolds, it’s revealed that these women have a past connection. The two stories converge in a very explosive finale.“I am always telling people it is never too late to pursue your dreams, whether it is because they got off to a rough start in life like I did, or because it is getting late in life and you realize, like I did, that it is time to go after what you really want,” says Alretha. “Your past does not have to ruin or even dictate your future.”
