  • The Daily Mess Those Early Morning Wake Up Calls

The moment you pop your eyes open and you're ready to rock. Then you realize it's only 3:45am. Which was late for me in the 1990's. I was the host of a morning radio show. I had to be in my office by 4:00am. The goal was to be in the know. Only to realize I truly didn't know who my listeners were.

  • Forest Stories Episode Eighteen The Little Table On The Porch

    Thanks for

    being part of the conversation

    I am the

Poet In The Forest.  A children series I
    penned out in the 1990s.

    None of it

would be possible if it wasn’t for this forest in South Charlotte, NC.

    I talk about

it so much that I thought maybe it’s time you get to meet all that inspires
    me.

    Thanks for

  • Dr Sabine Stanley Releases The Book Whats Hidden Inside Planets

    Extreme

heat. Extreme cold. Extreme pressure. Toxic gases. Scorching magma
flows, and ice volcanoes. Interior tides. Asteroids filled with gold.
In What’s Hidden Inside Planets? planetary scientist Dr. Sabine Stanley
cracks the surface to reveal the beating heart of planets and what
created them—from the building blocks of swirling cosmic dust, pebbles,
and gas to coalesced planetesimal beginnings to the worlds we see today.
We’re just beginning to explore the secretive interiors of planets,
    where awe-inspiring wonders await.

    Our

home planet is no exception. Earth, from space, looks like a shimmering
gem suspended in an inky, infinite expanse. But this serene image masks
the magnificent and volatile interior forces that make life possible
for millions of species on the surface. The placid appearances of our
neighboring planets similarly belie their powers—and science
fiction-worthy features, like diamond rain. The daily machinations of
Earth’s deep interior make the planet a habitable, yet sometimes
treacherous, place to live. Drill down thousands of miles through our
built environments and soil, sand, water, rock, and minerals to the
outer and inner cores, encountering intense convection, roiling metals,
hidden continents, and shifting tectonic plates. Discover the effects of
magnetism, rotation, and seismic activity seen and sensed in the forms
of auroras, hurricanes, volcanoes, and earthquakes, among other
manifestations. Our neighboring planets boast their own fierce forces,
along with moons covered by frozen oceans that might someday reveal
    extraterrestrial life.

  • Caleb Sasser From NBC's The Voice

Caleb grew up listening to gospel

greats and his entire family all performed in the church choir. In his
hometown, country living, tobacco and corn fields
are prevalent and have become a part of Caleb's upbringing. After high school, Caleb
earned a BS in music business from the University of North Carolina at
Pembroke. While there, he met his girlfriend, DeAndrea, who is an opera
singer. In 2021, he and DeAndrea
decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue music. Soon after arriving, he
has performed in Kanye West's Sunday Service at the Colosseum and with
Alicia Keys' choir at the Greek Theater and Sofar Sounds. Now, he
teaches voice and keyboard at Isana Academies.
Caleb loves soul food and cooking and, as he was growing up, he would say he wanted to be a "singing chef."

  • The Choice All Stories Have A Beginning

Life with all of its surprises. I'm not sure I could handle it any other way. Knowing the outcome of the full picture would call for me to endlessly rewrite and exchange. But getting hit in the heart by sudden shifts in the story line is a presence you never get used to. All you can do is learn from the last experience.

  • Master Storyteller David Baldacci Releases The Edge

    The

6:20 Man is back, dropped by his handlers into a small coastal town in
Maine to solve the murder of a CIA agent who knew America’s dirtiest
secrets—can Travis Devine uncover the truth before his time runs out?

    When

CIA operative Jenny Silkwell is murdered in rural Maine, government
officials have immediate concerns over national security. Her laptop and
phone were full of state secrets that, in the wrong hands, endanger the
lives of countless operatives. In need of someone who can solve the
murder quickly and retrieve the missing information, the U.S. government
knows just the chameleon they can call on.

    Ex-Army

Ranger Travis Devine spent his time in the military preparing to take
on any scenario, followed by his short-lived business career chasing
shadows in the deepest halls of power, so his analytical mind makes him
particularly well-suited for complex, high-stakes tasks. Taking down the
world’s largest financial conspiracy proved his value, and in
comparison, this case looks straightforward. Except small towns hold
secrets and Devine finds himself an outsider again. Devine must
ingratiate himself with locals who have trusted each other their whole
lives, and who distrust outsiders just as much. Dak, Jenny’s brother,
who’s working to revitalize the town. Earl, the retired lobsterman who
found Jenny’s body. And Alex, Jenny’s sister with a dark past of her
own. As Devine gets to know the residents of Putnam, Maine, answers seem
to appear and then transform into more questions. There’s a long
history of secrets and those who will stop at nothing to keep them from
being exposed. Leaving Devine with no idea who he can trust… and who
    wants him dead.

  • The Daily Mess Seeing The World Through Digital Eyes

Yesterday's flooding played hard on our mental state. Moods, temperaments, depression and outlooks. We did what so many others do, watched movies and grabbed the ocular goggles. The worlds we step into don't feel as fake as they truly are. Even while using the meditation app, once I remove the ocular goggles, I've learned to create space for reality to grow back into my sights. You can't help but feel like a baby moving away from it's mother's womb. Hey look! It's the real world!!
