Ray is always an awesome guest, not only does he have great insights into Children's Lit and the creative process behind publishing illustrated works, but he also is a great thinker. He had a lot of fascinating views on taboos, specifically the ones we shy away from bringing up to children, and how to best pepper in those type of lessons without stepping on anyone's toes or mentally scarring young readers.

This week we continue our current trend of authors that blow me away due to how much similarities there are between our styles and speak with the Attempted Wordsmith - Tony Galouzis - as well as his debut work TRINITY OF THE BROKEN.

Tony's background as a history teacher allows him a unique point of view when tailoring a story. Rich character designs, complimented by realistic emotional weight and expectations of the world at large, bring his stories to life in a way that reminds me of the great classics I grew up on.

In terms of world-building, Tony has put serious time and dedication into his craft, and that's something that (I believe) will propel his names to the top of some best sellers list.

This week we speak with a vibrant voice in the Young Adult Dystopian scene - Tanya "T.J." Ross - who talks to us about her debut and first book in her Tranquility Series, RISING UP!

Tanya Ross was born and raised in Southern California, a particular kind of paradise that's inspired a lot of her writing. She desires a world where everyone is kind, compassionate, and upbeat--which became one of the themes of her new novel, Rising Up.

We're kicking off this week with the long lost third member of the Friesen Brothers - Lucien Telford - who came to talk about his debut novel THE SEQUENCE and how his aviation background influenced his writing.

Mr. Telford is honestly one of the guests I've had with the most interesting background. Being a professional pilot for so many years of his life (as well as spending a fair chunk of his life abroad in Hong Kong as a native-born Canadian) have given Lucien such an interesting blend of wisdom and experiences. It shows in the very essence of his book, The Sequence, which judging alone by his synopsis of it should give a lot of us self-published authors a run for our money.
