Three of my students had gone in to take an interview at the United States Embassy in Bangkok. Two of them passed and one of them failed. How did she fail? Well, the common excuse is "he spoke to fast." However, that's exactly what happened. She wasn't able to pick up the -wh question'; therefore, it lead to her answering the question wrong and by the second question came, it was over. She lost. So, this podcast will feature me saying the questions at 1.0 speed (natural English speed), and the questions are just for extra practice.

Hello, everyone! I'm substituting grammar this week! I decided to add in a speaking skill since I didn't deliver one last week. So, here's a nice one for you today!
During a conversation or discussion, we sometimes NEED to change, or shift, a topic. When speaking to other people, it is important to recognize the topic shifts so you can follow the discussion. Topic shifts can happen because a speaker may not want to talk about something, the may want to move on to something more interesting, or because they have been reminded of something else.- By the way.....

So, a very interesting conversation came up last Sunday morning with a student in my Sunday class and she said, "teacher, how do I speak with foreigners?"
It's one of the most difficult questions to answer, but in becoming a good conversationalist over the past decade, I know what people want to talk about: themselves!
That's right. The first thing someone wants to talk about is their personal life, where they're from, or their passions.
The situation went like this. One of my students approached a man in line at a coffee shop and she told him where to stand. After that, she kindly asked him where he was from. Now, men can have preconceived notions, so the first thing she was afraid of was "what if he thinks I'm hitting on him?" Well, you would tell rather quickly. If he's interested, his body language can change. There are so many different things that can be said and learned in conversing with foreigners, and it calls comes down to the learning experiences.

Thanksgiving, which is a day celebrated by the English Colonists (colonists = colonizers = genocide -- just saying), isn't something we SHOULD be celebrating. It's like the traditional Columbus Day, a day which is a holiday in America, but it was the beginning of one of the worst upbringings in mankind.
Nonetheless, if we can all just give thanks to one another by just being grateful for everything and everyone in your life....let's do that.

Welcome back to one of my favorite grammar lessons -- the present perfect continuous! I usually use this compared to the present perfect. Example, I've been living in Thailand for five years. I don't like saying "I've lived in Thailand for five years." That could possibly indicate that I no longer live there, at times. So, let's dive into some rules and exercises!
- I've been living here in Thailand for five years.
- I've seen two black panthers at the zoo.
- I've created an audience with people from all over the world.
- Recently we've been doing lots of exams.

My journey as a TOEFL iBT coach has come to a powerful close, and with it, the era of TOEFL-focused podcasts. What began as a mission to help students pass…
an exam has evolved into something far greater — a calling to help people unlock their highest level of performance and transform their lives.
Welcome to the next chapter: High Performance Coaching.
This journey didn’t begin today. It began on January 3rd, 2016, when I made a decision that would forever change the trajectory of my life. Immersing myself in Napoleon Hill’s Law of Success, Jack Canfield’s Success Principles, and Lisa Nichols’ Abundance Now, I found the mindset and tools that helped me rise above the vehement and relentless racial discrimination I faced in this country. Those challenges did not break me — they built me.
In 2017, I made one of the most courageous decisions of my life: I walked away from a toxic job at New Education World in Future Park Rangsit. That leap of faith led to the creation of this very podcast on March 27th, 2018.
From ESL beginnings to TOEFL iTP episodes in 2019, and eventually into the TOEFL iBT space, what followed was an unbelievable 5.5-year journey. I built my own online business from the ground up and helped propel hundreds — perhaps even thousands — of students toward success. Watching others achieve their dreams became one of the greatest honors of my life.
But growth demands evolution.
As the TOEFL episodes began to slow, something remarkable happened — my coaching episodes surged. More listeners tuned in. More lives were impacted. The message was clear: this is where I am meant to go next.
High performance is no longer just something I teach — it is the life I live.
Later this year, I will take another major step forward by earning my license from Burke and Isobel in South Africa to become a licensed transformation coach. Soon after, I will continue my expansion through the High Performance Coaching program with Brendon Burchard.
Because this mission is not about helping someone pass a test.
It’s about helping people redesign their lives.
It’s about resilience, courage, reinvention, and stepping into the person you were always meant to become.
And now — you are stepping into this new phase with me.
At some point, there will be programs and products designed to accelerate your growth. But first, I am committed to becoming the very best transformation coach I can possibly be — because you deserve nothing less.
