Baroda based print-making artist, Soghra Khurasani’s third solo show ‘Shadows under my sky' opened earlier this month at TARQ. The artist along with gallery director, Hena Kapadia speak to Vanessa Vaz about the process, inspiration and works in the current show. Soghra’s layered imagination reveals itself through intimate textured landscapes and natural forms of vivid colours allowing for a very personal interpretation and beckoning the viewer to take a closer look.

We spoke with Gopika Chowfla who is one of the co-founders of the Goa Open Arts Festival about the Catalyst Grants and the subsequent Retellings art exhibition. We also spoke to some of the recepient artists of the grant.

Sharbendu De is a lens-based artist, academic and a writer with over a decade and a half of experience.  His focus areas include the indigenous communities, he works on issues related to society, culture, gender, climate change and the environment. Sharbendu explores his subject matter using varying tools including photography, sound, video and styles that include documentary, conceptual and staged among others.  Senior Journalist Georgina Maddox caught up with him to know more about his current work, his explorations and practice , his thought process and his future projects.
